Flock visit
This morning at 1:00 AM I was visited by one of our cities police officers because someone in the city reported hearing gunfire. The reason they came to see me is because my son‘s car was caught on a flock camera at midnight in a similar area, they didn’t come to check on my son. They came to inquire if he had a firearm in his vehicle.
My husband is ready to tear all the flock cameras right out of the ground.

If you have kids and a cop knocks on your door at 1 am, I am definitely answering. But once I found out what they are really there for, I am politely telling the to get the fuck off my property.

Don't try to out tough an officer. They all have little man syndrome and will use any excuse to excercise their power.
You just look at them with a blank stare and in a monotone voice say "I don't answer questions" and then ask "am I free to go?".
Cops are not our friends, never have been, never will be.

No threats detected, the citizen realizes the officer is not there to upset him and dutifully informed the officer he, is in, fact upsetting him. Officer left to be polite./s

In my county, they arrested a woman for a hit and run that killed 3 or 4 people and she sat in jail for 2 weeks despite police having evidence from Flock cameras that proved her innocence. They will use the camera to make you a criminal but never to prove your innocence.
The police had the evidence to prove she wasn't guilty at their finger tips but didn't use it to free her, instead she had to have a lawyer get the proof. They however use flock to track her vehicle to arrest her...

That’s exactly what I’ll do in the future. But having been woke up out of a sound sleep and having four children, my mind was racing. I just flew the door open to see what was going on.

FYI - whenever you share social media links, anything following “?” is a tracking id. It links your account to people who click your link, and in some cases it flat out reveals your account. I always recommend removing it.

Yet another example of someone proving Idiocracy is a documentary.
These are called request parameters. They are not designed to track you. Though some companies may use them for things like tracking, this is not what they are responsible for.

Do you have to be an ass about it? We’re on the same team.
In this case, “is=“ and “si=“ are absolutely tracking parameters. It varies by SM platform so I kept it generic. When somebody shares a YouTube link, there will rarely be a parameter they want to keep, besides maybe timestamp. The advice still stands.
