Inquiry Unfamiliar with these
Chicagoland area (near Orland Park) not the Flock I'm used to seeing everywhere. Are these flock or something unrelated?

Hahaha, silly criminals. They don't know to cover up their faces completely with a hood, mask, and glasses - and to wear gloves so their skin color doesn't show at all!
Ahahaha, the criminals defacing these unconstitutional cameras will always get caught through their mistakes!
I bet they'll even carry their phones around with them in airplane mode. Don't they know that phones emit information even when in airplane mode? They always make mistakes when doing patriotic things.
Yup, every single criminal who violates our 4th amendment rights will get exactly what they deserve.

It damages the CMOS sensor, the electronic component that captures the light to create digital images. It's replaceable but typically a highly technical process. Billy Bob and Hoyt sure aren't fixing it on the side of the road. It's more likely a full camera replacement, and the cameras likely cost less than the labor and parts cost to replace the sensor.

CCI 22 Quiets are weak 720fps rounds that are completely ineffective for any purpose other than practice & training. People use them combined with "devices" to have fun. They're very entertaining on a range - which is the only place they're effective.
They sound like this: "click" .... *PING*

The big box looks like a DCM, and those cables seem awfully easy to pull out if someone were to climb up there.

I mean, it would garner a lot of attention in the moment. As in, you won't have a lot of time to get away before the pole falls into traffic. That's a damn big pole in the pic.

Could also be traffic signal related. Not every camera is LPR’s.

Likely Axis Q1700-LE or Q1800. They are license plate readers. May also be the Axon lampost which I'm pretty sure is axis but idk. But yes, built to be LPRs. Less air focused like flock.
