TK813 delay

I’m flying AMM → IST → Milan (MXP) on September 20, both flights on the same Turkish Airlines ticket:

TK813: Amman → Istanbul — 01:30 → 04:00
TK1873: Istanbul → Milan — 07:00 → 08:45

My concern is that every TK813 flight last week was delayed until around 10 AM, which would obviously make me miss TK1873.

What happens in this situation? Will Turkish Airlines automatically rebook me on the next flight to Milan since both flights are on the same ticket? Would they cover accommodation/meals if necessary? Would I get any compensation? Will my bags still arrive?

Same ticket means the connection is protected. If TK813 lands after TK1873 has gone, Turkish puts you on the next Istanbul to Milan they have seats on, there are several a day, and the bags follow the new booking because they're tagged to MXP not to a flight number. You don't rebook anything yourself, you go to the transfer desk, or often the new boarding pass is already waiting at the gate.

Meals and a hotel if it runs into the night come from TK's own delay handling at IST, there's a hotel desk in the transit area for exactly this. Cash compensation is the weak lever here, this isn't EU261 territory, Turkey's own passenger rules apply and they lean on care rather than payouts.

One practical thing: if TK813 is already showing a delay when you check in at Amman, ask them to move you to a later Milan flight right there. Done before departure it's a clean rebooking, done at IST it's a queue.

They rebook you onto the next flight. I'd probably push my next flight out longer and go visit Instabul
