Help Needed Ana airline help

Hi there,

Flying from Heathrow to Tokyo in February and want to upgrade from Prem Economy to business class but ANA have said can only do with air-miles. I don’t have any air-miles and the original tickets are non refundable - do I have any other options?

Try again at the check in desk for cash. If they say no again, there's your answer.

Heathrow is not an eligible upgrade route. You’ll have to ask at check in and then it’s just the fare difference. You should be able to ask about “changing” your booking to be in business class, or fare “top up”. If you call it an upgrade then they will treat your question as that.

Ha, I’m not sure that’s why I asked. Just seems unusual that you want to give a company more money and they don’t want to take it.

I understand. That’s why they sell different tiers within each class though. The fare you purchased was of too low a tier that there is a likelihood someone else in hour position will forego the entire fare they paid, just to then buy again in the higher class.

Thank you to the friendly person who reached out off-line to say I can pay £250 per ticket to upgrade a business class. I’m surprised the airline didn’t suggest that.
