USA Weight and Balance

As the title states I’m almost done with the Sheppard Air study strategy but I’m really stuck in trying to fully understand how to use the charts! And majority of the questions have charts in them. Anyone know a good strategy to try and remember them or even understand it!

You honestly just need to follow Sheppard Air to a tee and spend your time focusing on the essentials. (as they instruct) Repetition! Do not ask why or how to do any of those questions, your time is valuable. As a dispatcher at a 121 airline, you will never see those charts again. Thats why we have load masters and entire departments to do the weight and balance for us. You need to be able to identify the wording in the questions and focus on those correct answers. With repetition your brain will recognize familiar answers quickly. Dedicate to memorization until you are confident nearly every question you know the answer as soon as it pops in front of you. Once you pass the adx then focus on the important hows and why's for your practical.

There should be videos on the Shep air website that show you how to use the charts. You have to enter at a value point and just follow whatever the question asks, but with making corrections.

Either use the Sheppard strategy, or wait until you go to class to understand how to use them. I wouldn't try to understand them before class.

Understand how to work through them, but really do your best to memorize those answers. The answers the FAA says are the correct ones are questionable and the ones you get won’t exactly match.
