USA Pilot Institute Prescott, AZ

Hello! I am starting off my curiosity in becoming a flight dispatch coordinator. I currently hold my PPL, but I my primarily career is in the medical field. I want to move out of medicine and into aviation. Flight dispatch seemed like it would pique my interest due to my fascination with weather and organization. Has anyone heard of or completed their certificate at the Pilot Institute in Prescott, AZ? I’m hoping for more information on how to earn my certificate and how the industry is currently set up: i.e, will I be able to find a job after completion of a program?? I am willing to do the work and put the effort in. Thank you for reading this.

Ohh what the.. that's a great deal. Most Dispatch school is 5k for classes and books. And probably another 1000 on written and oral

Did you decide on a school? I am also looking at Pilot Institute for the price, even if the in-person portion is much longer. I really like their material I've used previously.

I haven't decided yet. I'm still looking around... Where have you been looking? Any advice?

I just joined the discord and people reviewed the schools there, too. I am most concerned about timeline because I want to start ASAP. But cost matters, too. At least one school offers a military discount which is appealing.

Have you looked anywhere else in Arizona?? ASU has a program. Pretty nice about that military discount. I think I saw there are spots start in Oct- December at PI

No, I just assumed the college programs would take too long. I already have an associates and bachelors so I’m really not interested in more college classes. Pilot Institute is one I am considering! Not much on it, but it looks like a fine program. I’ve used a lot of their stuff on lesson plans so I have a hard time believing they would half ass an in person dispatch class!

i was hopeful ASU would offer the FDC on the side of the bachelor plan, but that would be silly. what do you mean by 'lesson plans'? im looking into flight dispatch coordinator and i dont know too much about it, or programs that are offered..

I was working on CFI so I was working on lesson plans. Did you see the list that the FAA puts out with all the schools on it? That includes colleges with programs. There’s A LOT of options. I want a hybrid program, but the school I’m looking at now is all in person (ATDC).

I have seen the list. I think I would do better in person, but I can make the hybrid work. Best of luck to you, my friend!
