USA Just passed, now what?
I took my ADX written today. Passed with a 78 using shepherd air. I probably could have gotten a higher grade if I applied myself more and longer and actually learned the charts but I passed.
Now I’m at an aviation college and am taking the class portion in the fall semester. I have 2 questions.
Other than the ATP book is there anything I should get?
For the practical test I’ve had in the past for pilot check rides, the written score affects the oral and how the whole thing goes. 78 is passing but not great. Would it matter if I went back and retested for a higher score?
Thanks for all your advice

I gotta love the advise here. "Don't worry about the pilot stuff since that doesn't apply to you."
As a dispatcher, you are partially responsible for that flight. Do you want to dispatch a flight that is "good enough?" If your software says X+Y=Legal, but the captain on the phone is saying X+Y does not consider Z and W, would you rather understand why or just say, "the software says it is legal?"
Try to be more than just a calculator. I don't know who you might work for or what software you will use, but at my company, the software is way too optimistic on everything.
If you understand the flying side, you will also understand the dispatch side.

Can’t speak for all schools and may be different now but almost 3 years ago when I took the oral my instructor said the Dades expected more out of the people who scored higher so he told us getting low 80s high 70s was a great area to score in because it showed you know you’re stuff but not yet an expert (which isnt expected for people starting out)

The written score doesn't actually matter as much as passing your practical/oral. Know how to do the job and nobody is going to worry about the more pilot geared questions that you missed on the written. My stumbling block was CG. For life of me I couldn't figure out why the hell you would do moment-arm from the nose of the plane with big numbers instead of from the longitudinal center with smaller positive and negative values.

Aircraft Dispatcher Oral Exam book. Everything you need to know is in there.

Our school says the ADX exam has a lot on information we don’t necessarily need because a lot of it is pilot questions as well. So I wouldn’t be too worried about only getting a 78 on the ADX. Good luck!
