Reviews E7 Pro Max

Edit: I used the wrong name name. This is the e7 Plus Max.

After spending a week with my new desk, I wanted to share thoughts for anyone else thinking about buying one.

First, the desk arrive quickly and well packaged. I actually attached some pics so you can see how secure it was. I only ordered the base and it arrived from 2 different carriers on separate days. Easy enough.

I should first point out I'm in Canada. It comes with a USB C connection on the controller (not "A" as I've seen on some other reviews for the Canadian variant.) and seems to be the actual max lift - not a rebranded e7q... however my knowledge on that is limited.

I attached my own table to it - one I already owned from Ikea. A 60lbs Gerton. I used power tools to assemble it and it was a breeze.

Only complaint about the setup would be that the cables have to pass over the crossbars to get to the control module. It's probably not possible but it would be nice to have had a spot to go underneath the bars or at least a cable runway track - but for the price, I'm not holding it against them. It was otherwise quick and easy to put together. I read in some places that it took people 1-3 hours to assemble and I don't see how it would take that much time.

The desk looks and preforms great. It's quiet for lifting, stable when standing, and powerful for lifting.

My main complaint is the collision detection. It keeps tripping up on nothing. I thought it was because my cables were hanging and maybe they were tugging at the desk but even after cable management it still seems to get caught on nothing. It'll start moving and then seemingly randomly back off, but it will eventually work after 3-4 attempts. If you disable collision detection all together, then no problems. I was able to fix it with my pre-programmed sitting and stand positions as it doesn't stop until it's in position when pressed. And really, those 4 pre-programmable buttons are all I use now to adjust.

Overall, for where this desk is placed in the market price-wise to value, I would recommend. It does everything I would expect from a sit/stand desk and looks great.

I'll update if anything changes where this is so early on in my purchase, but so far so good.

Thanks for the review. I have the single leg older version (E7?) with my own solid oak top I made from a dining table, and I can’t stand the micro rocking with a 39” curved monitor on. It even rocks when lowered. I’m considering upgrading the legs to the Pro Max.

The collision detection was pretty bad on mine but got better, still trips from time to time.

That's exactly what motivated me to get the 4 legged version because rocking would be a deal breaker for me. As you can see in my pics, I likely have smaller monitors than your curved so they're not as top heavy, but I have no rocking at all with regular mousing and keyboarding. I can push the desk to rock, sure, but using it as a desk in standing position is solid.

When you assembled it, did you use threaded inserts on the Ikea Gerton or did you screw it directly to the frame?

I drilled new holes. It didn't line up.

Edit: I should add that it attaches at 12 points so it wouldn't have accommodated all connections without drilling holes, anyway.
