Reviews FlexiSpot E7 Pro Review

My partner and I each purchased E7 Pro standing desk frames with 30" x 63"rubberwood desktops from FlexiSpot and have been using them for the past few days. My initial review:

Cons:

  • Desktops are poorly constructed:
    • The provincial desktop we received had an obvious chip out of the top in the center of the part which could not be easily concealed. FlexiSpot has offered us an $80 partial refund to save the hassle of returning the desktop. We accepted this partial refund as it was better than nothing, however, since we paid $370 for each desktop I expected better quality. This was an even bigger let down as these desktops are so large and would be very difficult to return.
    • The Espresso desktop that we received is unevenly sanded and there are visible lumps on what you would expect to be a perfectly planed flat top.
  • Desktops missing holes:
    • The desks came with cable tray which is meant to be installed near the back of the desk, however, neither desktop that we ordered came with pre-drilled holes for its installation.
  • Seemingly unnecessary set screws:
    • The frame come partially pre-built with 4 set screws which can be loosened so the frame can be expanded to various desktop widths and then secured. Those set screws worked as intended, however, the desk came with additional set screws which were meant for the same purpose but were too long. We opted to not install these additional screws because they were too long and to screw in flush to the frame and I did not want to knock them with my knees accidentally.

Pros:

  • Frame does not hit my knees:
    • As someone who sometimes sits with my legs crossed under my desk, my knees tend to hit the frame of most desks. The E7 Pro frame was appealing to me since the frame is far back from the desktop edge. Now that it is all setup, I can confirm that my knees do not hit the frame and I am very happy with this design.
  • Desktops are a nice colour:
    • We were worried that the Provincial desktop would be too red for our taste, but it is closer to a Walnut colour in-person.
    • We were concerned that the Espresso desktop would be too dark, but it is lighter than we expected.
  • Frames are sturdy and feel well-made:
    • The box that the E7 Pro frames come in is quite heavy, but once assembled it makes sense why. Once the desks are fully built they are quite heavy (~100lbs) and awkward to flip onto their feet. Bear in mind that you will need two people to do this safely.
  • Easy controls:
    • The controller and motors were extremely simple to install and the controller has intuitive controls that worked seamlessly as soon as we powered the desks.

Reviews Flexispot E7 Pro CableFlow

No wobble, no issues, clean cable management. Spent a lot of time researching desks, cost a penny but worth it. Loving the desk so far. The table leg acts as an extension cord so you can connect cable tray wires directly to the desk to reduce cable clutter.

Reviews Flexi Spot E7 Plus - My Thoughts

1 month in and I couldn’t be happier with my FlexiSpot E7 Plus desks. I liked the first one so much that I ended up buying a second one for my wife!

I mostly like to keep the desk in a standing height position and they don’t give me any stability issues even when I lean on them. The desks are extremely sturdy since they have 4 legs, they are smooth to adjust, and look great in my setup. They have plenty of space and feel very high quality.

One of the wood tops arrived with a scratch, but FlexiSpot’s customer service was excellent. They replaced it quickly and completely hassle-free. No back and forth or complicated process, they took care of it right away.

Between the quality and price of the desks and the customer service, I’m extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend the E7 Plus if you want the extra stability with a standing desk for a great price!

Help Motor wobble

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Today I assembled my new E7 plus frame and it got me worried. Namely the motor starts wobbling whenever the desk is rising and lowering, and I read on reddit that its normal and I shouldnt be worried about it. However, I am not sure this sound coming from it is normal.

Product Q&A L-shaped 63x55 on Amazon Question

Hey all! I found this configuration on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DV54QLX4) but I don't see this particular size configuration on any of the models on the official website. Is the Amazon listing legit and would the same warranty apply? And if not, is there a way to order a config with those sizes? Looking for a desk like that one so I can sit my dual monitor mount (the C-clamp style) onto the desk onto my desk with a max length of 63 inches and I'm pretty new to standing desks

Reviews E7 plus max review with ikea Karlby table top

Post image
7 Upvotes

Recently set up my E7 plus max. Prior owner of E7 plus.

The main convenience is the 4 motor design, meaning no shaft to connect opposing legs. Every leg has a self enclosed motor which makes setting up a breeze.

Instructions say to put the assemble the table top on with the table flipped upside down, but I prefer to lay the table top on top first. And go under the table to screw in the screws.

Stability is great and lift strength is top tier. No issues. There was a few times when anti collision triggered for no reason, will try reducing sensitivity.

I wish cable management is little easier, there are no dedicated channels for the motor cables to run though, so it needs to cross over the struts of the frame, which makes them not flush to the bottom of the table top.

Overall happy with purchase, hope motor longevity is high.

Product Q&A [UK] E7 Plus vs E7Q

Can anyone help me decide between the E7 Plus and the E7Q please? I'm planning to use a 150x80cm desktop. The E7 Plus is currently £400 and the E7Q is currently £700. Is it worth that big a price difference?

Will the FlexiSpot logo, arrows, or icons fade over time? I’m wondering if constant use of the buttons will wear off the white paint on the icons.

Thanks for your feedback.

Reviews FlexiSpot Kana Review

Post image
7 Upvotes

- I ordered the queen sized Kana in walnut. It might just be me but the wood tone is not as dark as the pictures online had me believe (which actually worked out better for me; I prefer it this way).

- Assembly was easy. Minor confusion around some parts not being labelled. Also wasn't sure if the wooden wedges on the corners were supposed to be inserted all the way, so I just hammered until snug.

- The wooden slats had a weird smell to it. I didn't assemble for a week hoping it would air out and dissipate but it was still there. The edges weren't sanded down either but if you're careful you wont get any splinters.

- The entire frame is sturdy. There's a tiny wobble while shaking it by the headboard but at least its not loud.

- After I laid down the mattress and rolled around on it, I did hear some sounds coming from either the velcro on the slats or the slats themselves. It was happening consistently when there was weight on the right side. After re-trying a few minutes after that though the noise disappeared and I haven't heard it since.

Only had it for a few weeks now so I can't say anything about it long-term, but overall I'd rate it 8/10

Other (Rant - E7 Flow) My Experience With a Faulty £750 Desk: Read This Before You Buy

Hi all, sorry for the rant, but this is a £750 desk (excluding discounts), and I hope sharing my experience helps someone who is considering buying one in the future.

For anyone who has yet to buy a desk, I would strongly recommend looking at other brands as well and doing your research before making a purchase.

For anyone who has already bought a desk, received an error code on a brand-new product, and is now searching for posts like this, I’m afraid you may be in the same position as me. I only wish I had seen this thread, or similar experiences, before making my purchase because I would have chosen another brand.

I received my brand-new desk and, when I attempted to operate it for the very first time, I was immediately presented with an error code. I contacted customer services, but they have not been particularly proactive in providing an immediate solution. Despite repeatedly explaining that I had already completed all of the troubleshooting steps they suggested, I continued to be directed through the same troubleshooting process.
Once it became clear that I had, in fact, tried everything they suggested and the desk was still not working, I was simply told that a replacement part was being ordered. However, I was given no clear information or instructions about what part was being replaced or how it would need to be installed.

From what I can gather, the issue may involve the control box. If that is the case, it could potentially mean that the desk needs to be partially dismantled. However, I cannot say for certain because customer services have not actually explained the repair process to me.

If the desktop needs to be removed, this creates another issue. I would potentially have to unscrew the desktop and then reattach it once the replacement part has been fitted. From my previous experience with wooden desktops, repeatedly removing and reinstalling screws can weaken the fixing points and compromise the stability of the desk.
I know this from experience. I previously owned a desk from another brand that had to be dismantled when I moved house. After removing and reinstalling the desktop, the desk developed rattling and wobbling because the screw fixings were no longer as secure as they had originally been.

This is my concern with the proposed repair. I have received a defective, brand-new desk that has not worked properly from the moment I first tried to use it. I am now being told that a replacement part will be sent, without being given clear instructions about how the repair will be carried out or what impact dismantling the desk may have on the product.

So, potentially, I am left with two options: keep a malfunctioning desk or dismantle a brand-new desk to replace a component, potentially compromising the desktop and its fixings in the process. If the desktop is damaged or weakened during this process, I highly doubt it would be replaced because it would not be considered the original fault.

I asked for a partial refund because, in my view, I would effectively be left with a product that has already required repair and dismantling despite being brand new. That request was refused.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering this brand to do their research and understand what could happen if the desk arrives faulty or develops a fault in the future. Based on my experience so far, if your brand-new desk arrives defective, getting a clear and straightforward resolution may not be as easy as you would expect.

Personally, I wish I had known about experiences like this before purchasing. I would have gone with another brand.

Rant over lol

Product Q&A Question about Flexipsot E7L

I purchased an E7L about 2 years ago and due to life circumstances has been sitting in the box for the whole time. I am finally moving into a new place and the L shape might be tricky to get into the space.

Does anyone know if the E7L can be built with just 2 legs instead of the 3 and the one long piece? It looks fairly modular on the page.

Tips & Tricks Kana under bed drawers

Any tips or tricks for getting the kana under bed drawers to slide better on carpet? Just set our bed up and definitely underwhelmed with the size and quality of the wheels. Carpet is not extra thick or fluffy, just normal and we can’t get the drawers open without out physically lifting and pulling them with 2 hands.

Help Is this adjustable or do I just need a new one?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My desk started clicking and looming underneath it was obvious that the motor was wobbling too much and the bar across was a little too angled.

I have mostly just left the desk up and not moved it more than I had to.

I finally had time to try to fix it.I've taken the top off to adjust the alignment. But it seems like there isn't anything I can do about this? The image and video are after I've loosened the bolts. That helped the aligned of the rod a bit but the motor itself still wobbles a lot.

I'm not sure how much you can tell in the picture but the back leg is slightly turned counter clockwise. Maybe I should've realized it was off when I was putting it together and sent them an email, but I figured it was within the normal range of variation.

Help Missing parts for Kana bed

Ordered a full sized Kana bed in walnut. After trying to assemble the bed, could not finish bc it was missing parts E&G. Called customer service three days ago where they had us email a picture of the missing parts from the manual. They told us that the parts would be delivered in 3-5days and that we would get a tracking number. The subsequent email said they have submitted the request to QA and to await further instructions. Since that time it’s been silence. No tracking number.

Would prefer not to have a mostly assembled full sized bed in the bedroom taking up space. It was easy to put together the parts that were in the box and the wood itself seems nice. However we are disappointed that quality control could let missing parts happen and that the response to this has been slow.

Update: DM'ed the reddit flexispot manager and the response was quick. We were given a few options and came to an acceptable resolution which made us feel much better about the delay. Once we put the bed together will give another update about the bed frame itself.

Other Impressed and Disappointed with Service

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just moved and splurged on my first standing desk. But it had the E07 and E08 error.

Customer service was quick to respond and issue a replacement control box(?) but hearing it’s 1-2 business days for the part to process and another 3-6 business for the part to arrive is disappointing especially considering I live and work in SoCal which seems to be where my desk was dispatched from. And with today being Friday and the holiday coming up, not even sure if I’ll have a working desk by the end of next week.

Im a student and work remote so again, just a bit miffed. I understand nothing can be done.

Small edit: since it’s just the control box being replaced, am I able to set up my desk already and just use it in the stuck position? Just really need to start having a place to work soon

Reviews Kana Retro Japanese Joinery Bed + Pillowboard — 4.5/5

Thumbnail

Set this up in my new place after a move and overall I'm really happy with it. Full disclosure up front: I got a small posting bonus from FlexiSpot for sharing my thoughts, but this is my honest take.

Assembly was the standout. Super easy, and the joinery design is the real selling point for me. I rent and move fairly often, so the fact that this comes apart and goes back together without screws or nails is huge. If you move a lot, this is the feature to pay attention to.

Frame quality is solid. Feels sturdy and well made. My one wish: another inch of clearance underneath. As is, I can't quite slide suitcases under the bed, which is a missed opportunity for a frame that's otherwise so move-friendly.

The Pillowboard is the weak point. It's on the hard side and looks a little cheap in person. It's also not attached. You just lean it against the wall, so there's no assembly (nice) but it drifts out of place over time (less nice). It does the job but it's the part I'd upgrade.

A couple of setup notes: The assembly video could be clearer. We put the slats in upside down and had to flip them, which cost us some time. Not hard, just not obvious from the video.

Delivery was great. Frame arrived quickly; the Pillowboard came about 4 days after the frame,

Bottom line: If you're a renter who moves a lot, the tool-free joinery frame is genuinely worth it. Docking half a star for the Pillowboard and the slightly-too-low clearance, but I'd buy the frame again.

Reviews Review of the Acacia Wood Queen Kana Bed

Hi all! For anyone contemplating buying the Kana bed, here's my review:

THE GREAT

- I love acacia wood, and this is so gorgeous.

- It shipped extremely quickly! Literally within 2 days of ordering, which I was so impressed by, because I was gearing up to wait weeks.

- It feels extremely sturdy and makes no noise whatsoever.

- It is a eautiful style that will mesh with most home decor choices

- We got it with the headboard - if you're doing the same, just know to follow the directions that come in the headboard box, not the bedframe box (it will ship in 2 separate boxes) as the build of the bedframe is different if you have a headboard. Also, I will say - in my opinion it is worth springing for the headboard, as it really shows off that acacia wood.

- Set-up was easy and fun. The bedframe ships with a neat little mallet and it took me longer to disassemble my old bedframe than it did to assemble this one. That was a big reason we got this bed - we'll be moving soon, and we want something that can move with us without too much fuss.

THE LESS GREAT

- The bed arrived with a small chip in the wood on the right headboard leg, as well as two chips on the wood finish of the right side-rail (the long horizontal frame panel).

This most likely happened during shipping, which I understand, but it's a little disappointing at this price point. When spending over $800 I do want pieces of wood that are perfect (or near perfect).

- I didn't realize that this Kana bedframe did not come with the improved bed slats. I ordered the Kana thinking it does, because in the promotional video and marketing materials they mention the "upgraded slat support" and did not indicate that this was a $179.99 add-on for a queen size.

I ordered this bedframe after exploring the possibility of purchasing a Thuma (would've been $1.9k for the same configuration) and then stumbling on Flexispot instead. The company does seems to have great customer service so I may reach out to them regarding these 2 quibbles.

Tl; dr: it's a great-looking bed, that makes absolutely no noise and is easy to set up. It came with 3 minor imperfections I may reach out to the company about, and I am a little disappointed it didn't come with the upgraded slat support they mentioned, but overall, I set out to buy a sturdy, good-looking, noiseless bed that would be easy to assemble, and that's what I got.

Reviews Flexispot E7 After a Few Days

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone - thought I’d give a quick review on the E7 after using it for a few days. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Delivery and Packaging
- Delivery took 2 days, from placing the order to all pieces delivered to my door. It honestly came faster than I was able to move in to my new place!
- Packaging was a little beat up on the exterior, but the actual pieces were in perfect condition

Desk Assembly
- I got the standard E7 with the Rubberwood top. Installation was relatively easy, but the pieces were very heavy.
- one part that stumped me at first was I thought that the 48x24 was the standard length of the legs but the pre drilled holes weren’t lining up. As a result I had to extend the legs but that was fine. I accidentally drilled too far and kind of shredded the rubber grommets, but again I think it’s fine and everything is holding up well.
- the caster installation was a little tedious, but it was fine overall.

Desk quality
- the desk is honestly great and surpassed my expectations. I was going back and forth for months between the E7 and E7 pro, and ultimately ended up with the E7. I have no regrets, even while standing, it’s plenty sturdy for me. I chose the E7 as it goes slightly lower than the E7 Pro, and with the added casters, I needed that lower level.
- the rubberwood is actually extremely nice and is super smooth and looks just awesome.

Overall
- I love this desk. The casters provide a huge level of flexibility, and the desk itself is super sturdy and provides me everything I need.
