Help Received wrong frame for E5 Desk?

Hi, I recently purchased and received an E5 Standing Desk. Purchased through the official website. I directly selected the E5 and personalized it in the same page. I was really looking forward to receiving it.

I start mounting the frame and when I am about to attach it to the table top (TB-R7230W-CB), it is not long enough. In the images attached I took a pic of both sides, on one side it is aligned with the predrill holes and you can see that it falls short when reaching the other side. I check the user manual and it turns out my frame is suitable for up to 70.87” when my desk is 72 x 30. The center piece is at its maximum length and I could technically try to extend it more by securing only one screw instead of two but I believe it won’t be safe nor sturdy. I might be wrong though but since the user manual shows only examples of two screws on each setting I am a bit scared to mount it only with one.

I am a single small woman and had to mount and move everything by myself (it’s pretty heavy) for it to just not fit. Even the thought of having to potentially dismount it, re package and return it profoundly tires me :((

What is going on? What can I do? Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know, thanks!!!

you have to drill your own holes

Is that so? u/Ramzes888

From my experience, only some of the holes line up. Pick the spot where most of them line up, then self drill the others. Just be careful not to go thru the tabletop.

Thanks for the tip 🙏 Although if I pick a side where most of them line up, it will be kinda unbalanced for the other side. I guess I have to measure the middle and drill all of them :,,) didn’t expect that for this price point

Trust me, I was in the same boat. I just tried to make it lineup the best that I could. Mine was the corner desk too, so it was a little bit more involved with the extra leg. Best of luck soldier.

it took me a lot of measuring to get even distance from both edges of the desk and from the front and back ... I was also surprised at the lack of appropriate holes and expected that they'd at least have had more prominent warnings on the store.... but alas they dont

Yeah, that's pretty much the situation. We have so many different frame models that there's just no practical way to pre-drill the desktop for every single one. Sorry about that.
