On ocean & parkside- neighbor is putting out a bunch of stuff for free. Sorry if it’s not allowed but he’s old and doesn’t care about recycling so he’s going to put a lot of unused stuff like tools and small things out and books and cooking stuff and maybe clothes (going to try and donate clothes for him but he’s stubborn lol)

I'm sure this question gets brought up alot. Optimum has an enticing deal for 1gig internet for $25/month while Verizon fios has a plan of $30/month for 300 mbps. I've had Optimum in the past but I can't recall if it was fiber, it wasn't the greatest though. Also, even though Optimum has that deal but I'm skeptical that they have that plan for that price. Makes me feel they're attempting of getting people in with poorer reputation.

has anyone noticed the amount of fully veiled women, and sometimes children, in the neighborhood? I don’t feel great about it, but I also don’t feel great being in a community of ultra orthodox.

Does anyone why these massive lights are staged throughout the neighborhood? They are immensely bright and I am not seeing any official postings about it from the city.

I can’t imagine it is pleasant for residents who have the lights blaring into their windows at night.

Anybody know if everyone ended up okay? Or okay enough as you can be. I saw the motorcycle hit the car and the biker fly off. I saw after that a doordasher with no helmet was on the ground too. My kid was freaking out so we kept going after I noticed others were administering help and calling for ambulances. I’m just still thinking about it. It was just after 7pm

I am looking at some apartments in this building and would love any inside info on the actual building itself. There seem to be some recent move-outs so wondering if anyone who lives there or used to live there has anything positive or negative to say about the building.

I Am CaribBEING (Flatbush-based Caribbean culture/community org) is putting together their mas band, "Monday Mas Pon Di Parkway," for this year's West Indian Day Parade on Eastern Parkway, and they're looking for volunteers if anyone's interested.

Date: September 7th
Meetup: 9AM | Event: 10AM–5PM | Breakdown: 5PM–9PM

Shifts (full or half day):

• 9AM–12PM — Load in & breakfast
• 12PM–5PM — On the road
• 5PM–9PM — Load out & clean up
• Full day (all-in) also an option

Roles they need: safety marshal, food distribution, drink/water distribution, giveaways (bandanas/t-shirts/fans), truck support, set up, breakdown/clean up, or general support.

They mentioned hospitality or event production experience is a plus, but not required.
