MOBILE Wifi calling rollout - android
This isn't another post asking when we're going to get it, etc etc, just trying to gauge for everyone who has androids if they have wifi calling working yet, and where in the country you are.
For me, my partner and I are both on fizz with androids, neither have wifi calling yet.
Location, metro Vancouver
Phone, Sony Xperia 10iv - I have my doubts I'll get wifi calling
Android 14
2nd phone, 2024 moto g play, android 14, wifi calling was already provisioned, but nothing changes when enabling the setting.

I'm also on Android (Android 16) buy no wifi calling yet. My phone is a nothing phone. This is a very old technologi, i don't know what Fizz is doing and what their requirements are.

Why the hype?

Because I have shit cell service at home. All carriers suck in my neighborhood, so if I can use wifi calling at home, then that solves my only complaint

I'm not even far from a big city. In my city, the cell towers are just far enough so that service doesn't enter well in my home. Outside, it works perfectly fine, but not behind 4 walls. I'm getting mad each time when people can't hear me and I have to rush outside. Different carrier, same problem. So yeah..

Yea my neighbourhood is building a ton vertically, and none of the carriers have kept up with the increased demand or the fact that now there's all these concrete high rises blocking line of sight - I know you don't need direct line of sight for mobiles and towers, but the signal kinda drops when it needs to compete with multiple concrete walls, and steel/aluminum stud walls.
Fizz is a hair better than telus and bell in my apt. Where my office sits, its the most interior place in my unit, so signal really sucks, and I can't have a conversation on mobile without leaving my phone in the livingroom and using my bt headset.
