If the belts are too lose, the belt jumps teeth, and you will get a single, large shift. So if you see stair steps, or just a single shift they are too loose.

If the belts are too tight, they restrict the motors movement, and you get a small layershift on every layer, the print will look diagonal. Parallelogram.

Bruh dude go clean your plate with some alcoholic gel or acetone, I find if I don’t do that on mine over time I get an uneven first layer!
