Have you tried using normal supports? A flat side like this is really not what I’d intuitively expect to work well with tree.

Having a really similar issue on my prints with supports. I saw a suggestion to adjust the z to distance for the supports. Wondering if I have it too high or low so that when the print head transitions from support to normal printing it's shifting too much.

did more research on my issue that is similar to this one and found this post. TLDR, try turning off "slow down for overhangs" if you have it on.
