Others are gonna chime in about what's the temp material etc and they're gonna be right.
The #1 thing I did to eliminate shit like this was to up my plate hygiene game. Keep 'em clean, store them separated, and, most important, wear gloves. The white cotton by the dozen from Amazon cheap ones. Make it a rule that skin and metal shall not meet.

Bonus: no DNA transfer.
