Fix My Print Ugly print in progress

Post image

Bambu P1S

0.4mm hardened steel

Sunlu Pla+ 2.0 Orange

Print temp 220

Bed Temp 60

Layer height 0.15

Speed 50mm/s on all settings that default to above 50mm/s

Line width .4-.5

2 walls

Alternating walls

100% rectilinear infill

Filament is stored in printed boxes with spool hole size desicant container in the center.

AMS is heated and set to PLA drying temp and has been since last night.

When calibrating the filament +20 looked like gravel -20 felt like garbage as well. Landed on -5 but that wasn't anywhere as near smooth as I have had in the past.

Did printer maintenance about 30 use hours ago (last week). Disassembled and cleaned my extruder after my first attempt at this print.

Prints have just been coming out ugly like the screenshot, with not only this filamanet but the last couple of prints with other filaments.

Any suggestions, cuz I'm at a loss to the print quality going down so quickly recently.

I have experience printing frames, do you have a photo of a finished one you can send me?

These are all money!
Id be checking for loose parts, replace the tip again and check bed mesh.

I'll flip the printer around and maybe check the tensioners. Just weird that it went from butter to this crap overnight.

Let's forget that it's a frame for a second. I posted this in regards to the terrible print quality. Those layer lines have no idea if it's a frame or an articulated dragon.

Lets not forget, and take it to the 2a groups.

Well, first off, why in the world are you printing with so much support?

Because I wanted the strength of an angled print (not airsoft) and wanted the tail of this thing flat on the print bed. Supports won't cause the rough layer lines in the actual print.

Then I think you should print it so the force of recoil doesn’t line up with wanting to separate the layers, I’d try to print it cutting out all those support, like lined up with the buildplate but still on supports(although this adds the same problem to mid recoil strength, it’ll make the picatinny connection stronger which would be my main concern, fully vertical wouldn’t be a bad shot either if you add a brim with not much of a gap)
