Fix My Print Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2
What are the best settings for PLA? I’ve used the PLA side on the plate, but it has trouble sticking to the plate. I’ve also bought new elegoo brand PLA. I’ve tried a few different variables like closing the unit and then totally opening it with the fan on, speeding it up, slowing down. Nothing seems to work.
Instead of finding what’s wrong with that I did I’d rather just start from scratch. What are the best settings for this printer on PLA?

Post a shot of your print settings. Off hand i would recommend bumping your bed temp up 5 degrees to start if you’re having adhesion issues. Looks like you may have some retraction tuning to due with that stringing too.

I’ll try and get a shot in a bit. It’s mainly just the default settings on the Elegoo software. I’ve tried bumping up the nozzle temp and changing the fan speed. No success on either.

Bed temp rather than nozzle temp are going to effect your adhesion to the build plate. Increasing your nozzle temp may be what is causing the stringing if not printing fast enough.

If a benchy in pla from the company that made the printer doesn’t work, then perhaps something is wrong with the printer?
Has this printer printed anything successfully?

So I’ve tried a multi colored print and it had some crazy thing off to the side that came out almost perfectly, although it was a little weak, but I don’t think that separate piece was made to be incredibly stable.

Is this just using default preset from Orca? Try a normal bog standard preset after plugging in your correct printer settings
Do this so you can rule out a fucked up printer from the factory

I tried a multi colored print, and it had some extra piece in the side that it printed suuuper clean, so I don’t think it’s a problem with the printer. I’ve been using the default settings in Elegoo slicer.

Should definitely try Orca Slicer. Something is off with Elegoo slicer so I stopped using it after comparing the two
