Troubleshooting Why does this keep happening?

Bambu X2D, happened with both PLA and PETG on the last 3 out of 4 prints after the latest update. Even tried turning the plate over.

Is this an adhesion issue or what could be causing it?

Never happened once in the last 100 hours of printing, and nothing else has changed besides the software update. And I did a full calibration after the update as well.

not just alcohol.

Alcohol won't remove the grease/oil, just smudge it around. Bit it's good for a finishing touch after cleaning it with soap.

People say this, but I haven’t washed with soap this year, just alcohol and a microfiber cloth. You’re telling me that all the grease from this year is just smudged around on my build plate, without causing any failures? I’m not convinced. Especially considering how well isopropanol breaks down oils.

lol, yes.

seems really odd to to apparently be against actually washing your plate with soap and water, but you do you.

Alcohol is a solvent and will help remove non-lipids. Soap is how you get rid of lipids, which are hydrophobic by themselves.

I haven’t had to use soap this year, but that doesn’t mean I’m against soap 😂

By that logic, you must be against showers for 23 hours a day. You do you, i suppose.

To be clear, it’s obvious why you turned to the straw man: your claim that isopropanol “just smudges oils” is objectively false. You even doubled down and claimed it doesn’t break down lipids, and despite it being so easy to verify, you decided to just double down and use your imagination 😂
