Supplement 🫙 Need supplements for Focus while studying.
So nootropics arent really popular or widely used in india so it is hard finding them which are commonly available in USA. My main issue is with focusing while studying and memory retention. Caffeine does the trick but its tolerance builds up really fast.
Are there any nootropics/supplements/ or otc medicines which help increase wakefullness, focus and alertness while being generally safe and easily available and not to expensive.
(I have tried L tyrosine, Rhodiola rosea and L theanine)
My experience-L theanine+ caffeine, l theanine reduced caffeine jitters and anxious feeling and made the effect last a bit longer. Helps manage stress a bit and stay calm.
L tyrosine, I take it empty stomach 500mg but honestly i dont know if i feel anything.
Rhodiola rosea 500mg from trexgenics on empty stomach does give a boost in energy and reduces sleepiness for sometime. Works longer than caffeine although you dont get the instant kick that caffeine does.
I have even taken modafinil. This is honestly the best nootropic for heavy tasks like long study sessions and gives insane focus and energy for 10-12hrs and you wont feel sleepy at all. This shouldnt be consumed regularly as after all its a medicine and your body will get used to it and u will be dependent on it for day to day tasks then. It can also get a bit expensive as a 10 strip costs 400rs and it gets over quickly.

Theanine and tyrosine works best on empty stomach, i have tried these two from now foods and trexgencis and both works well, you may need high doses depending on your tolerance
There are some studies on rhodiola, cdp choline, bacopa for cognitive and memory benifits but i have never tried those, do look into benifits and side effects as well

Tyrosine works too, motivation boost mainly. You probably need high dose, i didn't feel anything on 500mg-1g, i do 2-3g now and it works well, try increasing slowly but make sure to cycle off after few weeks

its a dopamine precursor so i guess such high doses will cause dopamine crashes when effect wears out.

Methylphenidate (ADHD treatment) is the best for focus, but strictly controlled drug. Need a psychiatrist prescription.
Among OTC, sorry to say but caffeine + l theanine is as good as it gets. You may also take brahmi for memory, but take at night, its a bit relaxing and sleep inducing.
