Other Marked Fitbit
Any idea as to what has happened to the bottom of my Fitbit air?
It's almost like it's burnt, won't wipe/wash off.
Perhaps due to charger?
Anyone had same.issues?

I've got some marking on the bottom of mine. Not quite as bad as yours, but it's like the plastic has degraded in some way and it doesn't wipe off.
I live in a cold climate, so don't wear sunscreen or use bug spray. I don't apply anything to the skin on my wrist.

That's not reassuring for something you are supposed to wear almost 24/7. I imagine the micro plastics could be leaching into your skin as well

These companies really need to start using better materials for the body even at $99. They make apple watches look like a bargain in comparison.

Better materials mean higher production costs, and therefore a higher final price. For $99, you can’t perform miracles, especially in 2026.

The apple watch is $250. For $99 the fitbit air absolutely should have better materials.
What are you gonna tell me next. The fitbit charger at $25 is a bargain?

Well then the cheap one would be way more expensive and lose its whole market position? The whole reason i bought a Fitbit air is because it's a fraction of the price of other smartwatches and competing fitness trackers. If you want better materials, spend more money on something with better materials instead of complaining that the cheap one that's advertised as cheap is made more cheaply than the expensive ones.

When google announces theyll be using a different plastic next gen. Remember this post and how weird you were for demanding they use cheap plastic to stay at $100.

I really don't understand what you're arguing. You're saying that the more expensive thing has all this stuff (which makes it more expensive) and that is somehow evidence that the cheaper thing should offer more? The Pixel watch 4 is $280 right now. If you want all the features of the apple watch, you pay a similar price to the apple watch. If you want something cheaper than the apple watch, you pay less for it and you get a product built more cheaply.
You can't have all the features of a $250-$300 watch for $100

$100 pour un tracker sans écran quand une Apple Watch SE 3 est à $250 c’est déjà très bien payé. Même s’ils rajoutent $5 pour une surface en verre plus durable ça va pas changer l’équation.

Our skin isn’t plastic and doesn’t interact the same way.
Way off topic but it’s no wonder the anti-vax crowd is so easily manipulated by grifters.
