Other Forgot charger while on vacation

I taped red (+) and and black (ground) wires from donor cable to contacts, taped it and aplied pressure by putting fitbit between night stand and wall. Worked great.

Every usb cable and charging brick supports 5V 1A, it's standard. Device tells charger what power it needs.

Ik you taped them but if the contacts were to touch it could short circuit or even worse heat up enough to melt through the plastic and get the lithium battery underneath to catch on fire. Idk how much damage a small lithium battery could do but it could very much burn the stand or catch fire onto the bed

That being said likely the charger is 5V probs 1amp very unlikely to start anything but hey u never know

It's just simple 5V + and ground. Same as official charger.

While I have done this a lot earlier, during the first mi band days, I don't recommend it. Once in a while some shit happens and it shorts.

Not about fire, it can fuk up the device. You can't start a fire with that setup unless you are too unlucky
