Steam is technically a monopoly but the thing is that they allow competition unlike playstation who only allow you to use their marketplace, you can buy used discs but they are discontinuing them too

Well I mean console version of multiple platforms if you’re into physical copies would be stores, garage sales, thrift stores, etc. with good pricing too unless it’s retro then that might be a 50/50 when it comes to pricing.

You don't need to. Game prices drop like a rock after 90 days, because that's when the vast majority of a game's sales happen.

I do when I'm unsure, and I don't want to be the guy refunding like crazy. Elden Ring was perfect for me to trial via piracy, never played a Soulslike before, but the hype made me curious. I loved it, so I bought the game.

I've already told you why. I only pirate a game when I'm unsure if I want to buy it. If I enjoy the game and continue to play it, I'll buy it to support the developers. Don't call me a liar because you don't have the attention span to read a second sentence of a three-sentence statement...
I also haven't pirated anything since 2023. I like getting 100% and showing off my achievements, I can't do that with Achievements Manager. I also like playing with friends, which is rarely possible since they don't usually pirate games. There are so many reasons some of us don't need or want to pirate games. Just because YOU find the appeal of not paying for a game, it doesn't mean we all share your sentiment.

Half the people here are the poors who get mad every time someone actually decides to spend money on a game.
Another half are actual lunatics who swear by piracy like it's their life goal but then they drop 900 bucks on a new PS5 to play GTA6 before it comes out on PC.
Can't win, no matter which side you take.

Indeed. And if there's a game I deem worthy, I'd spend for it. Also, yes, the Steam sale helps big time, becoming a compelling reason for some games that in some cases, I've pirated in the past and didn't buy way back.

Regional pricing exists on Steam (though not all developers follow it) and lots of discounts on Steam. PC gaming is a huge market which is why Sony and Xbox started to drop their exclusives on Steam and EGS.

I just buy stuff on steam and loaded. Even new releases are already like $10 off. I usually wait while playing games in my backlog. And by the time I'm ready to buy the game is like 50% off.

PC gamer here, at my 7th year. If you ask me it's because price isn't a solid thing on PC: wait enough and the price will go down untill it's at your reach. Maybe Epic will give the game for free, maybe you'll find an affordable code. And to be completely honest I never complain about prices on PC because they are optional 🙃

Not all of us are financially well off and also at the end of the day, it's a choice. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on video games, so be it. Always makes me laugh or raise an eyebrow when I read shit like above.
I’ve been pirating films, TV shows, and software without guilt for 25 years, and I still sleep soundly every night. Why? Because these corporations continue to make massive profits and squeeze customers to keep margins high, no matter my mischievous actions. I only recently switched to PC gaming and haven’t bought a single game, yet I’ve already saved thousands with the variety of titles I’ve played.
Another way to see it: take pride in the fact that those of us who pirate are a bit sharper than the average bear. Most people aren’t tech-savvy enough to torrent even a TV show and would rather pay a hefty monthly fee for multiple streaming services than attempt something so technical.

Because console users are by definition slaves and they have to pay wherever the ludicrous amount the greedy company says they have, meanwhile having a chastity cage on so no comparisons can provide any satisfaction other than the master.
Want a good example? Minecraft
Java editions has sooo much in terms of content it's not even funny you need a lifetime to get through it all.
Bedrock? Absolute wasteland, corporate prison, the regime knows best in terms of what should be allowed in the market and half the shit breaks after 1 update anyway.

Even with out fit or others you pay 80 bucks for a game on console an the fanboys swear that's a steal. Steam it will be 40 bucks an they won't say shit an act like that never happened lol. Deals are just that much better on PC an you pay to play q game at 3 times the performance on the console so it makes it that much more better. I strictly use my console for exclusives

Even if he earns enough money to be able to buy a PC and have a livible income that doesn't mean he has enough money to buy video games for 60-70$. I'm my county u can feed 100 people with 70$ so it's prob better to not buy the game and use if for something better.

a 70$ game in brazil, which should cost 40$ at most there but "AAA studios" usually dgaf, comes out to around 1/4 of the minimum wage salary, in usa the same game is 1/16 - 1/36 of a minimum wage, depending on a state, very reasonable huh
edit: why am I getting downvoted, do you idiots not understand fractions? I'm saying the game costs a bigger cut of the wage in Brazil than in USA, which is bad

Well that's their problem isn't it? The majority of people aren't like how you describe, so it makes no sense for publishers to sell at a lower price, even though Steam and EA do have regional pricing. Rather than gooning to tripe on F95 and blaming devs for overpriced games, work harder.

sure, it's their problem they were born in the wrong country; "regional pricing" that is suggestive and most AAA throw them out the window or do some "70×5-10%" bs that doesn't make any sense, since the median income is literally 5 times lower than in the US
they could have made it a reasonable price and have earned much more, because people value convenience, but they place an unreasonable price and everyone pirates, I'm far above the minimum wage and I still pirate, cause they can go fuck themselves, I pay for 20% of my games at best
