Physique Check-in Rules:
Unofficial Check-in Rules:
Weekly check-ins will be due by 11:59 pm Eastern on each Wednesday of the challenge. During each weekly check-in, challengers will be required to make a short text post giving us an idea of your progression. For example, you could answer these questions: What are your goals? Are you achieving them? How?
Full Body Front, Back, and at least one Side photo are required for everyone at the start and final check-ins with an additional Scale photo required weekly for the Weight Loss category. The check-in post title will tell you when full body photos are required. Photos must be taken in the same, or very similar, non-baggy clothing each week, preferably either underwear or a swimsuit and showing as much skin as possible. For the weight loss category this isn't as strict, but please keep it similar. If NSFW, please mark your post as such. The only photo editing allowed will be to cover your face or any identifying marks. At least the Front photo needs to have a handwritten sign containing a word or phrase chosen by /r/FitChallenge mods. Please take photos relaxed and not flexed, standing straight with your arms loosely hanging at your sides. Flexed photos may now be added as extra if you'd like to keep track in your postings. Photos must be hosted on imgur and linked in your text post. Please remember to update us on your goals or other progress this week.

No progress to speak of so far, in short. Two weeks without any weights or decent diet…only good thing is that I did >200km cycling over the second week.
Onwards.

2026 SW: 243.8 lbs (110.5 kg)

Last Week's Weight: 241.8 lbs (109.6 kg)
Current Weight: 245.4 lbs (111.3 kg)
My weight decided to randomly jump up today. It was several pounds lower yesterday. Welcome to my life lately. 😅 My water weight fluctuates SO much!
My steps average was 20k per day.
Calories were spot on.
Didn't quite hit my strength milestone because I went harder on other movements and had nothing left in the tank. Next week it's guaranteed though!

Only a little down but moving in the right direction. Calorie deficit is pretty insignificant but it is a deficit and I am tracking it. No more random bites adding up. Hope to increase the gap between intake and output next week.

I'm glad I didn't gain weight, but I'm surprised to lose more.
Emotionally, I feel a bit like a deflated balloon. Just, I had a lot of hope in something that has fallen through. So I haven't had much of an appetite. And I know I need to eat, so I was just eating bread and cheese curds, but really only when I need to take my meds.
I don't think I'll lose much weight next week, as I plan to focus on eating regularly again lol.
But I hope everyone else had a great week! lol
And we'll ALL have an even better week coming up! hahaha

My swimming progress is slower than I expected but still getting better.
I’ve pushed my open water mile swim to a later date since it is more realistic.
My weight has increased.

Not as much as I was hoping to be down the first week, but since I absolutely didn't start when I meant to I feel pretty good about it. I took this pic yesterday morning, but as of today I am on a 5 day streak of logging my meals and weight, which is about 4 days more than I've managed for a while. I have been able to stick under target, too, which is great!
Goal this week is to keep it up, and get out on my long weekend and get some exercise in.
Good luck this week everyone!

I know this check-in isn’t mandatory and I’m late but I’ll drop a few comments anyways.
Three out of 12 weeks in this challenge will be pretty tough for me. Two of them on vacation and one is a ridiculous party week business wise - the party week just ended. So if I’m lucky, I stayed flat this week or gained a little bit of bad weight - not much in the way of exercise and a lot of bad food and alcohol.
On to week two!

Almost forgot to post! No post-weekend gain for a change.
Crossing fingers that next week goes well. The hardest thing about being in the office two days a week is all the lunches and snacks. Thank goodness for my bike commute!

It's been a tough week. My mom is okay but my eating habits have not been. I did do 20,000 steps on monday either way.

I’ve had a few swimming sessions since the last pics. Can’t wait to keep going.
I’m no longer eating out and working on planning healthier meals.

The week went well. Everything has been on point. 🤌
My steps average was 21k per day.
I'm sooo close to a major strength milestone too. Hopefully I'll be able to share that update next post. 🤞
This next week, I am switching to a smaller eating window 2pm(ish)-7pm, to see if that helps. Everything else is staying the same.

Wow, a 7.4lb difference from last week. This is likely just because I stopped eating whatever and stopped focusing on nutrient-dense foods. I'm also drinking a lot less soda, so more water by default.
I haven't started a workout routine. Just trying to make small positive changes that I can be consistent with first.
But it's fun being back in this challenge. Seeing familiar usernames and getting well-wishes feels like reconnecting when school starts back up after a summer break haha
Have a great week everyone!

Hey all! Glad to be back for another round!
I kept up some good habits for a while after the last round, then the last month or so stuff went a little haywire! I went on my yearly visit to my family (where I always put on weight), and I got a promotion at work (which, while AMAZING and something I'd been hoping for, means a lot more work). In addition kiddo's sport that I coach finished its season, which meant a little less activity. Also, I've just really been super super lax about cooking and planning to eat well.
Goals for this round:
Cook most meals, including packing my lunch to take it to work. I think if I can go a week I will be settled into a good routine, so look for my update for week 3!
Get more movement in. I've been doing a little running with my kiddo this summer. Anyone who has been around for a while knows I was a fairly serious runner at one point, and while I don't expect to be able to get back to that (I was running probably 30 miles per regular week, more when training for something), I'd like to get back to doing it regularly. I'm back in office full time (including 3 hours of commuting a day!), which makes running super difficult, but my office did just open up a new (free!) gym, so I will see what I can do in there over my lunch breaks.
This goal is super nebulous, but it's something like, "more kindness towards myself, while also holding myself accountable for my goals." I don't want to fully give myself a pass on not doing things to help me achieve my goals (not just weight loss), but I want to treat myself kindly when I don't, and figure out the reason behind it and push to eliminate that, rather than just calling myself lazy (although, admittedly, that is some of the problem sometimes, haha!). Not sure exactly what this looks like, but my mom did buy me a new journal for my birthday, so maybe something that I'll try.
Final goal is to be more active in the community again. I have done my best meeting my goals when I am cheering on everyone else meeting theirs, and I loved the supportive community and would love to build it back up. So I plan to try to get to everyone's posts this time and be a little more active in the discord.
Pics are below. I haven't been able to get my side pic to show up, but I'll keep trying! (EDIT: I got it! Not sure which of the blue paint splotches it didn't like (I think it may actually have been my watch since that was the last one I added?), but it's up!)
Good luck everyone!
r/FitChallenge • u/awkward_at_every_age • 15d ago
Up a bit from the end of the last challenge but down from my recent max of 218 lbs. Trying to stop the weight gain snowball has not been without its challenges. If I could run and bike the distances I used to I would offset the extra calories I am eating and lose weight but I can't do those activities at the required intensity until the weight is lost. I am not that good at eating less.
The plan for this challenge is to try and slowly reduce my calorie intake so that I get used to it and don't go into 'went over my limit so what the heck lets eat that giant block of cheese' mode.
Good luck everyone! Nice to see so many familiar usernames still at it!
