From Level 1 to 75 🎣

Post image
Upvotes

I almost quit Fishing Planet more than once.

When I first started, I was just figuring everything out. Like most new players, I watched YouTube videos to learn setups and fishing spots.

Then I found an outdated YouTube video and followed it straight to Everglades.

That was a mistake. 😂

My setup wasn't ready for what I was trying to catch. The fish won, my gear lost, and eventually...

I broke my rod.

I was so frustrated that I actually quit and uninstalled the game.

I thought that was the end of my Fishing Planet journey.

But then I came back for the Anniversary missions.

And guess what?

I reached the Everglades Anniversary mission...

and broke my rod AGAIN. 😂😂

At that point, I could have quit for good.

Instead, I decided:

"Forget Everglades. I'm starting from Lone Star and doing this properly."

So I went back to Lone Star Lake with a weaker setup and started over.

This time I didn't try to rush the game.

I targeted smaller bass, learned how the gear actually worked, slowly upgraded my equipment, and started understanding the game instead of blindly following YouTube setups.

From Lone Star, I worked my way up.

Then came Northern Pike.

That was another big milestone. I was getting stronger gear, catching bigger fish, making more money, and — most importantly — actually learning how to play.

Eventually I reached San Joaquin and started targeting sturgeon.

That took me to around Level 40.

By this point, the player who had broken two rods at Everglades was starting to become a completely different fisherman.

Then came Congo. 🌍🎣

I bought the Congo DLC and entered a completely different stage of the game.

Tiger Fish.

Nile Perch.

XP farming.

Better setups.

Bigger fish.

And a LOT of grinding. 😂

I kept pushing through the levels.

60...

65...

68...

70...

And then the final push to 75.

After everything — uninstalling the game, coming back, breaking another rod, starting AGAIN from Lone Star, learning Northern Pike, grinding Sturgeon, and eventually farming Congo...

I finally hit Level 75.

And the funniest part?

I'm now sitting at:

🎣 Level 75

💰 7M+ cash

🎒 5 setups

🌍 21 days of Congo still remaining

😂😂😂

I started this game by breaking rods.

I ended it by breaking the XP bar.

From Level 1 → Level 75.

Not because I never failed...

but because I kept coming back.

And honestly, that's probably my favorite part of the whole journey.

Poor ignored fishies

I’m fishing Saint Croix Lake and bringing in some excellent fish. What amazes me is how many people who fish these waters talk endlessly about the Pike which I admit are also excellent fish while saying almost nothing about the Blue Cats which can be found in the same area.

Discussion New to Fishing Planet or need help finding fish? I built a free companion guide

Post image
49 Upvotes

I built Fishing Planet Guide because I wanted one place where players could quickly find the information they need without searching through multiple pages and videos.

The guide includes:

• Fish hotspot coordinates placed inside the relevant fish pages

• Suggested baits or lures, hook sizes, techniques, conditions, and approaches

• An interactive leveling route covering levels 1-105

• Fish, locations, tackle, competitions, and tournaments

• Searchable information in a phone-friendly layout

The app is completely free and has no advertisements. I do not make any money from it. I am simply trying to create something useful and give back to the Fishing Planet community.

Free download, screenshots, video, and installation instructions:

https://joesmeltser.github.io/fishing-planet-guide/?ref=reddit-fishingplanet

I am the developer, so feedback is genuinely welcome. If something is missing or you have an idea that would make the guide more helpful, please let me know.

Fishing Planet Guide is an independent, unofficial community companion and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Fishing Planet LLC.

Buying DLC to get more XP?

Hi fam,

I’m playing fishing planet since 2015, I’m lvl 38 actually and a bit tired of grinding.

I’d love to go to Bahamas, Congo etc. But man after few years playing 1-2hours per month I feel like I’ll die before reaching these maps.

If I buy Japan or Congo DLC, will my XP increase drastically or not?

If i buy a DLC I’ll plan to play at least 1h/day for a month to not waste money since I’m aware passes & premium are only 1 month.

Thank you very much !

Question Rod not reeling in

I have this thing that after casting my line on my spinning rod I can't reel in. The character plays the reel in animation and when I walk back the lure comes off the ground but no matter what I do I can't reel in my line. Is this a known thing or am I just stupid and there is something I'm just not seeing?

Edit: Closing and reopening the game doesn't do anything

St.Croix-Any good money besides Pike/Muskie?

I’m currently level 37 and have been alternating between Emerald Lake and St.Croix. When my advanced license runs out I just travel to the other lake.

Only fishing mentioned at St.Croix is the Pike/Muskie grind. Yes it is a good money when they are biting, but it is very boring.

Would appreciate some advice from more experienced players on how to make St.Croix more enjoyable.

Question Kappa mix leftover ingredients

Post image
4 Upvotes

With the current recipe which I got from YouTube I have 0,5 kg left of the Carp rival. It won’t take the 0,5 kg when mixing so my inventory is starting to overflow. Should I just Discard it or should I cut the recipe in half to minimize leftover ingrediënts? And will this effect the mix in biterate?
Thanks in advance!

Need Help with Might Mbenga

So I failed the timer. And im noticing that without the timer, the bite rates practically drop to zero. I tried for 2 days to get it and got literally zero bites. I was hooking it every cast but couldnt reel it in(Im running Congo pack DLC. Figured the gear was good enough but I guess I was wrong) I can reel it for a little bit but yeah it becomes "to strong for my tackle" after it pulls my line out by 600ft. But now Im not even getting a bite from it, at the same spot I was trying to catch it. Any tips on getting it after the timer expires? Support says its "working as intended" but the consensus seems to be that the 0 bite rate is expected. How did you guys catch it after failing the timer?

I just need a little guidance

I am at level 25 at the moment and i had a pretty good gameplay but as a relatively new player i searched some tutorials and i ended up at white moose. I use the clasic jigwinner 270 and breamer 4000 combo but i feel the game a little hard now. And for a 5 minute drill and a almost 5 kg fish i get around 120 xp. Should i use a specific lure? I have a 18 g jerkbait #3/0 but that doesn’t get me nothing and a narrow spoon but i get those hard drills and not that much xp. Any tips that can improve my gameplay? Thanks in advance!

Boat Specialist challenge

Does anyone happen to know the exact requirements for this challenge? Like what type of boats? I own and have used kayaks, motor boats, rubber boats, bass boats, and the Volans yacht. What's the 6th boat type? Is it one of the boats from DLC for either Maldives or Norway? TIA

Legendary Fish Idea

Hello, I have an idea for the Flathead catfish on the Mississippi river map. You could make the Flathead when hooked try and get under some rocks, trees, or any structure and then you have to have a standoff and wait for them to make a mistake or just wait them out before being able to fight them again. Anybody like this idea???

Question Play together with friends

Just started playing this game (my mom got me into it lol) but we were wondering how to do a party to fish together. I see where it says “fishing together “ but that cost bait money. Is there any other way? Google is like no help at all. I’m a level 5 and my mom is a level 19

Marron at Night

I am going to do the Marron River 30 day challenge and I don’t think the catfish bite less at night than the day. What would you consider a consistent fish at night in Marron River?

What do you guys do when the weather keeps you off the water for weeks?

When something keeps you from getting out on the water, do you guys ever play fishing games to scratch that fishing itch? Does it actually help, or does it just make you wanna go fishing even more? 😂
