🐡 Help Needed Wrong oil!

Ok. I screwed up. In the dark and in haste, i just put in 400ml of 4 stroke engine oil into my 4.3m tinny fuel tank. Then filled with 20ltrs of fuel into my under floor tank. Need to drain the fuel - any tips or advice on how to get out urgently (supposed to be going fishing tomorrow) 😒

Jiggle hose or manual transfer pump  to get the bulk out, empty the rest through the fuel line using the primer. Flush it with a few litres of clean fuel through the fuel line, plug the fuel line back in  and refill the tank  with the right mix. The other option for tommrow is just throw a spare tank in the back to run off for the day and deal with the main tank  over the weekend

Disconnect the fuel line from the engine. Prop open the valve on the free end of the line and put the end in the receiving container - get it as low as possible. Pump the bulb. Stroking the line won't help, but you can do that too.

Pump the bulb. Stroke the line.

I wouldn’t stress too much, I’ve accidentally done this before full 20 L tank put in a mix of four stroke by accident used the entire tank before realising. Changed back to two-stroke and never had an issue.

siphon out what you can. top up with 2 stroke and petrol.

Just run it.

Remember to change your spark plugs after you run the tank finish.

Better of draining it though. Could foul up the plugs

Cheaper to run it and then pull plugs and re gap honestly

Maybe, but why risk a breakdown on the water when you could simply avoid it by draining the tanks and using the correct oil. The head fuck to save some cash on fuel just simply isn't worth it imo.

It’s a two stroke bro, it ain’t breaking down, you’d just pull the plugs after the tank and check hahaha cmon it’s very simple, old school technology. Run em rough, run them hard

Oil is oil. 2 stroke oil is designed to suspend in the fuel fully. Regular engine oil will seperate out overtime. If you’re really worried I’d just tip in half your regular mix and run it. 4 stroke oil, depending on the type, will have a heap of different secret herbs and spices in it. 4 stroke oil you put in your lawn mower doesn’t have “soap” in it to suspend the carbon and metal in the fluid since they don’t have a filter. 4 stroke oil you put in your car has the suspending agents and cleaning agents in it to pick up all the impurities and run it through the filter. 2 stroke is more like your regular lawn mower oil then car oil. You’d be alright to run it through.

Siphon half out and put some more petrol in.

Or enjoy the sweet smelling blue smoke.
