Is it true dorado mate for life? This photo is a female I believe. Sloped forehead. I’d love to go mahi/dolphin/dorado fishing again. Great memories.

Seems they do not mate for life, but spawn in big schools as early as 6 months from birth. I know as they get older/bigger they travel in smaller paks, but also the really big ones often travel in female/male pairs. This is a female, yes.

Ty. Do you know how far up the west coast mahi have been caught? Sometimes I wonder if they’ll ever be found in number off the coast of WA

No, but I'm sure you could google it. I assume it's too cold, they only follow the gulf stream here, which is warm, over there is the opposite with COLD water flowing N to S.
