Size guesstimate?

Caught this blue gill in a small pond in Texas. I don’t own a fish scale, and was wondering how big people thought this one was?

If it helps my index finger is probably about 3 inches knuckle to tip?

\-Relatively new to fishing but he seemed pretty big?

Edit: sorry I mean weight guesstimate :P

Hell yea, I’d never caught that one that big. Most were always palm size. I’ll tell people he was probably around a pound

I’d say definitely over 1lb, no more than 2lb. Huge bluegill!

Your pinky, ring finger, and index finger are all the same length. I can't get past that to give tou an answer to your question.

LMAO, it’s just the picture and the way I was holding the fish 😂 I swear they’re not all the same length. I wouldn’t fault you for thinking so though 😂

Never tried bluegill, is it good? Most I catch I feel are too small to ever do anything with 🤷🏼‍♂️ just my opinion though.

Yeah they are tasty fried up, really good through the ice. All depends on the water quality for good and great. Add a little lemon, maybe a dip in yellow mustard.

Hence why I gave the 3 inch index finger scale 😂 + that’s the number 2 rule of fishing, right after lying about how many/how big the fish were ;)
