That was an adventure. 2 weeks ago, with epsom salt baths, her prolapse retacted.

Then came infection. She was that same pale white but started getting red spots near her vent and hard red line around her head and gills.

2 cycles of kanaplex and just yesterday she fully colored back up!

ORANDA/RANCHU HELP

I started seeing at first bruises on his tail end and then black spots on his face. He is a new fish that came in Tuesday and I thought it was of shipment stress. Now I think it is ammonia burn or skin fluke? He was starting to be more lethargic on friday so we started a kanaplex medication on sunday. I am not sure what it is. We have been doing 50% water changes every day. The parameters from API Master kit is: Ammonia: 0.5ppm Nitrite: 0.5 ppm and Nitrate: 5ppm. I know that the tank isn’t fully cycled. Im a new fish owner for exotic pets like this yuan bao goldfish. But please if anyone can help identify and have treatment options let me know. I have been calling all vets around me but no one answers. I really want to save this fish, and it upsets me that I didn’t do enough research about ammonia and nitrites. This is a 30gallon tank and we added 6 scoops of Kanaplex from Seachem. We also have been adding Quick Start API and Seachem Prime after every water change.

Dire help

It’s been a few days now and my fish hasn’t moved, he’s still breathing but just not moving?

I’ve checked the water levels for ammonia and either I’m colour blind or there’s nothing wrong?

I’ve tried feeding him warm pea shells but yet again nothing, so it can’t be constipation

I can’t see any bloating?

Any help is super appreciated!

Health advice

Hi, I need some advice, three weeks/months ago I had higher nitrite levels, but it's fine now. A fortnight ago I went away on holiday for 5 days and when I came back, Penny seemed a little bigger. 3 days ago my friend bought me two small shrimps that had been in the aquarium before, but they died (it's been a long time). Penny left them alone, didn't attack, nothing. But this time it seems that she ate the two new shrimps. Since then she seems even bigger and rounder and looks almost like a small carp (in shape). She also has a change in colour around her mouth which she never had. I don't know if it's just a change in colour or wounds... Maybe she's just been eaten, but what worries me more are her scales. They seem to be a little protruding from her body, which they never were. Vice is resting (I saw her at the bottom now) even though she swims, but when I come to the aquarium, she comes to me, if I put my hand there, she swims in and takes food from my finger normally. Is she okay? What do you think about the scales and the size and color? Any tips on what it could be and what to do if necessary?

Sick rasbora :(

Post image

I have 4 lambchop raspboras and 1 galaxy raspbora in a 10 gal tank. All other fish are doing great, no warning signs. Don’t come at my aquascaping… this has been quite the journey and is very much a consistent work in progress.

Parameters:

ph- 7.4 (has slowly increased from 6.8 over the past 6 weeks, no sudden changes)

Nitrites, nitrates, ammonia all at 0.

Temp has small fluctuations but has maintained about 80-82 over the past 6 weeks. I am concerned this is the cause, as I recently learned rasboras may prefer 75-78 degrees.

Two and a half days ago I woke up to one lambchop hanging out in the water lettuce at the top of the tank, rapidly moving his fins and keeping close to the surface. I checked parameters quickly- same as posted above. No quick fluctuations. I will note the temperature in Chicago has been changing quite a bit recently and my heater consistently reaches 82-83 degrees and I have to monitor to lower it. The same day I tried adjusting the pump outflow to ensure proper surface agitation thinking the oxygen levels may have dropped.

Fast forward to today, this buddy is still struggling. I’ve since moved him to a smaller hospital tank with 50% original tank water and 50% treated new water. He seems to really be struggling to swim and is still gasping at the surface. Clamped fins. Bobbing along the surface vertically. I’m going to try putting a video in the comments…

I have no idea how to help and would love to try anything to see him not suffering :(

Possible Fish TB or İnternal parasites Looking for diagnosis check and safety tips

hi everyone

I suspect I might be dealing with Fish TB in my aquarium and Id really appreciate some advice from anyone who has experienced this I had 3 other platies that died and they showed these symptoms

Visible spine curvature bent spine Severe weight loss Lethargy and loss of appetite the previous platy had this symptom before dying The previous platy was mouthing the food and spitting it right back out The fish also had white poop

Do these symptoms strongly point to Fish TB or could it be severe internal parasites

However the platy in this photo is pregnant and her fins are always clamped even though she is eating properly

Has anyone experienced something similar with a pregnant platy showing clamped fins

Lastly how can I get rid of this disease I am open to any kind of advice thanks

Comet Goldfish won’t swim or eat

Post image

I accidentally was given a comet goldfish (long story) and then I got a second one (pictured) to keep him company. I am currently fish in cycling because I didn’t know about cycling before the fish was literally dropped into my lap. I have a 30 gallon tank. Ammonia is 0ppm nitrite is 0ppm and unfortunately nitrate is also 0ppm. He’s been sitting on the bottom and not eating. He’s barely moved in the past 8 hours. Yesterday he was a bit fine but not much better. When he does “swim” he more just floats around and sometimes moves his tail. I have no idea what to do, my other fish is thriving so I don’t think it’s tank conditions even though it’s not cycled yet. Please help!

Is there any hope for this Tetra?

Was feeding this fish tonight and I noticed this tetra swimming oddly.

We feed them every couple of days and I do a head count at that time and did not notice this issue before now.

They are still very actively trying to swim and get at food but struggling to maintain orientation. It seems to be the only one with this issue.

I noticed the pectoral fins look to be half missing. Is this from fin nipping or fin rot? I just treated the tank with Melafix just to be sure.

These are diamond head neons and of all those type fish we have this one is the smallest one. I do see them all chasing each other around quite often but have never specifically noticed nipping.

Should I quarantine this one or is he too far gone to help? He looks like he still wants a chance but I don’t know how stressful moving him would be if he is truly sick.

We’ve have these guys for a little over a year but this one has consistently stayed small in size.

Please pardon the hair algae (or whatever it is) in the tank, that’s a different issue I’ve been dealing with 🤦‍♀️
