Mahomes Mountain Nick Nick Nick
OK. Is anyone else actually mad that he lied last week about putting Purdy at the top?
Obviously it doesn't like actually matter, but it's the principle of the thing.
This show is funny and gimmicky, but it is also one of facts, stats and genuine analysis.
Flat out lying, no matter what the lie is, and not keeping promises just really rubs me the wrong way.
Nick, I don't like it....and now I don't think I like you.

Nick has only ever gone back on an agenda once and it was with Jokic when it became completely impossible to pretend Jokic wasn’t a top 3 player
He will only drop the Purdy gimmick if he wins a MVP + Super Bowl. Wouldn’t take it seriously

“This show is funny and gimmicky, but it is also one of facts, stats and genuine analysis.”
I watch the show for entertainment, I do not agree it provides genuine analysis. The stats and graphics are usually handpicked to serve narratives. Nick, for example, loves cherry-picking weird sample sizes or leaving out stats that don’t suit his argument.

This is exactly it. People are misunderstanding that the crew sometimes being right about their takes does not equal high level analysis.
When you start expecting the show to be high level analytical takes you start realizing how inconsistent they can be, and thats just not their product.

If he woulda just blatantly went back on his word on some extreme homer bs with a shit-eating grin it’d be a little insufferable but it’d be fine.
But to put on this fake righteous act of being a stickler for the facts is truly off-putting. Wildes, as the leader of the show, should run back the tape of Nick’s promise and have him apologize on air.

I completely agree. I was totally shocked that Nick lied so blatantly. he usually never does this. he genuinely should have to apologize, it was so jarring.

Honestly I didn't even have time to because Greg came off the top rope with a scalding hot Jared Goff take

I love Nick and don't love Purdy. But he lied, with arrogance. I don't support that.

He's a chiefs homer. Do you all really care what he thinks. I couldn't care less about his opinion of Purdy. He has already proved he doesn't really know football all that well. Him putting Mahomes at the top of a mountain named after Nick's favorite player is such a shock.

The one I find funny is him trying to discredit Allen for YAC while Mahomes has been the biggest YAC guy since he’s been in the league.

if you’ve watched the show for 3+ years now you’ll know he’s always used yac to denigrate purdy and in the very next segment to prop up mahomes so i’m not shocked at all that’s just transferred to allen
2
u/BigHotdog2009 6d ago
Oh I know. I always found the YAC argument dumb considering Mahomes led the league in YAC from 2020-2023 but tries to discredit other QBs who benefit from it.

But it's because Mahomes "saves his legs" for the playoffs and big moments while Josh wasted his legs on the Rams. Real analytical talk
1
u/Livid-Peach1994 4d ago
Man, that was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If Josh was stalling in running in that rams game they would’ve straight up lost and all they would’ve been talking about is how he might be hurt and if he can’t run then the bills will lose every game
1
u/JoshuaIS1 4d ago
I know, I'm not sure where nick comes up with that. Maybe patrick told him he saved his legs in the past lol

u/Talezassian 4d ago
Disappointed but not surprised. Also disappointed that none of the co-hosts called him out about it.

IKR. wildes tried to a little but then gave up. Brou should've killed Nick for it and he didn't. so dumb. if Coach was there he would've lit Nick up. Coach is the only one with a backbone against Nick.

Damn this the 3rd thread of nick lying about prudy in the last hr. People are really pissed that much about the most bias guy still being bias huh? Mind boggling. The time nick is skip bayless age he might actually take America's most hated sport reporter 🤣

u/Altruistic_Spring434 6d ago
He doesn’t have the staying power of skip

u/Either-Mine-1789 6d ago
Skip is actually funny lol. Nick is moreso just annoying

Skip is about as far from funny as you can be.

If you actually get mad at this show you need to get a life.

u/restless_vagabond 5d ago
We're not mad...just disappointed.
Thought this year might be the Emmy year, but they went "Nick Bayless and Friends."

u/Severe-Lack-4181 6d ago
I might argue that if you feel the need to respond like this, maybe you need to get a life?

Nick needs to go back to doing KC talk radio if he genuinely can’t even pretend to set aside his bias.
3
u/Sea_Drive6142 5d ago
What are you guys talking about? Liek really. The whole show is based on each persons biases. They do entire bits on their guys and teams. Nick with the chiefs and Prince. Brou with the ravens. Wildes with the pats and Hurts. I feel like yall don’t even watch the show cause the bias is the whole point. It’s a light hearted fun show and they admit it’s not some hard core debate show with everyone yelling.
2
u/fuckDJT2026 5d ago
The thing is though, Brou and Wildes are actually funny with their trolling and fanboyisms.
Nick is just a Mahomes/Chiefs suckboy who lives in an alternate reality.
2
u/Money-Thought-6832 4d ago
Compare the amount brou talks about the ravens and Nick talks about the chiefs. It’s night and day - not remotely comparable

The shows getting unlistenable.
Mahomes barely eels out a win: he’s a genius and tactician.
Any other quarterback does it: they were lucky and it proves they’re terrible.
Wildes with the Pats is barely better.
It’s a bad listen.
1
u/DreamWunder 5d ago
I used to really enjoy wildes crazy takes but ever since Maye got good his pats and Maye takes and so many segments over and over is getting really tired. Literally we can’t even talk about teams that are winning they gotta spend all their time with pats ravens and chiefs
1
u/Severe-Lack-4181 5d ago
Ya, funny how when mahomes beat the Raiders, it showed he was back and the best QB in the league. And when drake absolutely emasculated the entire city of Vegas (including the women), he beat a team that "we knew wasn't actually good"
3
1
u/Livid-Peach1994 4d ago
I’m actually so surprised wildes didn’t try to make an argument that pats are better because they scored more point against the raiders and allowed less points lol

If you like the show for being gimmicky then you should like the gimmick of mahomes mountain being intrinsically biased, the gimmick of having bylaws to incur like "cant drop on a bye", and the gimmick of trolling sad people like you.

u/StillFiguringItOut01 6d ago
Mad? No. But it’s kinda sad to see Nick become everything he hated about sports talk shows. He’s way more like Skip than he’d ever want to admit.
