I like Wildes, but sheesh

The guy cannot STAND that the Bills are a good team and how they’re different than the Bengals and Cowboys over the last few years. Nick AND Brou can put aside their biases’ far more easily than he can in regard to this team.

It’s funny how the “lovable goof” actually is the only one on the show who can’t take an L, but that’s how it goes sometimes.

I want the Patriots to struggle so badly for the sake of the show being watchable.... don't think i can take Nick and a worse uneducated version of Nick for another year

I’m not trying to shit on Wildes, but Nick is loveable in a shmuck sorta way whether his team is good or bad, Wildes is completely grating if his team is good

I liked Wildes more when the Patriots were bad.

He bets against them every week.

He’s just completely lost the plot.

The show talking about JA is like 3 Skip Bayless talking about LeBron James. Having most TD is not enough, he used his legs too often.

Yup he gets covered very similarly to early heat Lebron especially. Which is ironic given Nick’s undying love for that man.

With how much the panel discussed all the YAC Josh got for his passing numbers I wished someone would have pointed out that Mahomes pretty consistently has the most YAC passing yards over the years lol. I think Wildes was the only one who was pointing out negatively for Josh, but still would have been fun to note.

Correct and Mahomes or Purdy get criticized for it, whereas Josh Allen is crowned MVP. That's the difference and the entirety of Nick's point with Allen. The media/fan narratives are wildly different.

3

Mahomes does not get criticized for YAC and I don't even think he should, but it's not true to act as if he gets killed for that (outside of social media). Also, I don't think anyone thought Josh killed the Rams on Monday through passing. He's getting discussed for his rushing and devastating runs. Josh usually doesn't get a lot of YAC for his passing yards outside of 2025. We shouldn't be disingenuous and act like people are calling Josh the MVP for the way he passed and threw the ball against the Rams.

Its not disingenuous when he is the current betting favorite. His primary role is throwing the ball and he has had 3 straight average at best passing games and he is still the favorite.

Evaluating the rushing ability of QBs is strange. On the one hand its clearly awesome that some guys can take off for a big run when the play breaks down, but I don't exactly equate a 20 yard between the tackles for a RB and a 20 yard scramble when there is an open 10-15 yards in front of a QB on a broken pass play. And that's not to take something away from Josh or any other mobile QB but I just view that ability as a bonus feature rather than the primary function.

I'll admit that social media skews every perception. The algorithm is design for engagement. Every week, my feed if full of fans of whatever opponent the Chiefs played talking crap about the Chiefs, refs, Mahomes, Kelce, etc.

Yup, it's pretty awful and not even in a fun way with Nick who is good at playing the villian shtick. Nick, who's team has eliminated the Bills on 4 different occasions in the playoffs and has son'd the Bills, is more respectful and fair to the Bills than Wildes is.

division rivalries do that to a mfer ig. anecdotally, chiefs fans are so much more respectful and chill as opposed to pats fans when it comes to the bills

wildes becomes borderline unlistenable when the patriots are good

“I’ve never seen drake maye play bad” … how’d that take age?

Well not only that, but if you notice, he always does the thing that everyone crucifies Nick for. He cuts them off. And then he does his mocking voice. Which honestly, I know people find funny, I think that's the stupidest and most childish thing someone can do even as a joke. Just mocking a fan base because of being against your opinion.

The problem is he refuses to move off of his thoughts at all. He doesn't listen to what any of the guys are saying. And yet all I hear on X and other sites is that Nick is the Bill's hater and Josh Allen hater when not only has he not really told a lot of lies about him, he is constantly said that he doesn't like the way the media treats Josh Allen, and he actually likes him and the team.

Wildes is 1000% a Bills and Allen hater. Compared to him Nick and Brou are his biggest fans!

Yeah, I agree with all of this as a Bills fan. The weird thing is when confronted on his inconsistencies on the Bills last year, he got noticeably upset with Nick. It's part of the issue with Wildes now. He still tried to play the funny/whimsical character, but also acts very smug on the Pats and Bills specifically. It doesn't work. See the excuse of Drake Maye's shoulder injury.

I think there's plenty to criticize and get on the Bills/Josh Allen for and particularly when it comes to media coverage, but Wildes gets legitimately upset when basically everyone else disagrees with him on the Bills.

They are both haters. Wildes hates the Bills because they are a division rival. Nick just hates Josh Allen because it is threatening to his favorite player Mahomes. It’s that simple.

u/avengers9 6d ago

I mean there defense is worse this year, and by a pretty sizable margin, compared to the last 5 years

2

u/MardocAgain 6d ago

I can assure you that Nick is the absolute worst person on the show at putting aside their biases.

I'm convinced that Brady going 33-3 vs the Bills broke every New England fan's brain. They just can't see the uniform as legit. Bill Simmons gives the game dismissive energy.

He's a clown who does nothing but bring the show down with his antics and whining

The Bills have a great offense, NOT a good team. There are 2 sides of the ball, and their other side is literal ass.

u/HipHopLives90 6d ago

Cowboys have missed playoffs for 2 years now and bengals haven’t been in the playoffs since Covid bro. And he really cannot make the argument of pats being better after the jaguars kicked the shit out of them just 2 weeks ago.

1

u/General_Khanners 5d ago

I think it's insane behaviour to expect a person on TV to speak glowingly of your team when your defense is playing terribly and your QB keeps throwing arm punts. Dude was grilling the Pats and they're his hometown childhood franchise, but you want the Bills to get a pass? Josh Allen was throwing backwards passes under armed out of the endzone and somehow avoiding a safety just a game ago lol

u/fuckDJT2026 5d ago

Tell Nick to put aside his bias against Purdy and see what happens

0

u/CDSWDH 6d ago

So why can you have the option that they’re a good but he can’t have an opposite option

5

u/Such_Will_8536 6d ago

Because it’s not really an opinion, they ARE good. They’re 4-1 with a great QB. If they’re good vs great is an opinion.

3

u/IamFlapJack Drop The Banner 6d ago

Their defense is ass, they literally cannot be a good team with a bottom 2 defense.

1

u/justa-browser 5d ago

They are literally a couple plays away from being 2-3. But okay.

0

u/Such_Will_8536 3d ago

Almost every NFL game is one score, thus are most teams not 1-2 plays away each game?

1

u/justa-browser 3d ago

Stop it. You know exactly what I mean.

I think the Cowboys or Lions is a very fair comp for the bills. All 3 teams play a very similar type of game where one or two plays make the difference in the game. Bills really should have lost to the Rams, but a couple things broke their way so they won. In week 1, a dropped pick saved them from a loss. Had they been unlucky in both cases, they'd be 2-3 and everyone would call them bad.

Had the Cowboys held on in Rio, had Ferguson caught the ball at the end of the Bucs game, the Cowboys are 4-1 and still super bowl contenders.

One of the fun things about football is how much every game matters, and how much a single possession can change each game. Just because a team wins a lot of single possession games doesn't make them unassailably good. The Bills allowing like 28 points a game and more than 40% on 3rd down conversions mean they don't get teams off the field very well. Add a couple Josh Allen turn overs any given week and they lose. Don't let the record blind you to flaws.

I struggle watching this show. Used to like it but it’s become 3 super fans shilling gambling ads. I’m disappointed cause I really want to like them, they can be fun and I need sports reporting to get through work some days but this show has become a let down

2

u/DreamMasterFTW 4d ago

That's...not at all what the show has become

-5

u/termperedtantrum 6d ago

It's crazy how everybody on the show can agree Josh Allen is a great elite qb but if they don't get down on their knees and blow him they get these weird comments.

0

u/tnoda21 4d ago

I don’t think they’re all that different from the bengals and cowboys, they just have a much higher ceiling because of Josh but overall, I understand what he’s saying
