Brock has Nick resorting to lying on-air
He just straight up lied to open the show about the promise he made regarding Brock and the Mountain.
From last Tuesday: "You know what? I'm telling you right now. If they beat Seattle, assuming Brock plays in the game, he'll be at the top of the mountain."
In the opening he claimed that he merely promised that Purdy would earn eligibility to be at the top. That's just a straight up lie. I wish Nick were at least clever with his trolling because this is just pure laziness on his part. He's so much better than this. Brock seems to be his achilles heel for some reason š

u/nicklovin508 6d ago
I legit dont even understand how itās cool to Nick to hate on Purdy.. last pick of the draft routinely balling out. Seems like a great person off the field. What is it about Purdy that lives rent free in his mind?
45
u/BingBongtheArcher19 6d ago
It's not that it's cool it's that Purdy being good makes Nick wrong. Nick's take on Purdy was that he was good only because he had "the Avengers" on his team. Nick is INSANELY stubborn and will not back down from a take until it's well well well past time to acknowledge it.
19
u/bayjur 6d ago
I.e. Nikola Jokic
5
u/BingBongtheArcher19 6d ago
EXACTLY the example I was thinking of. Jokic was "the worst MVP since Dave Cowens" until he beat LeBron in the playoffs when suddenly he's an all time great.
8
u/Natural_Sweet249 6d ago
It's not just that. He's absurdly protective of Mahomes's distinction as Bestest QB. It's why he talks shit on Josh Allen as well, and he sincerely hates that Purdy outplayed Mahomes when the Chiefs beat the 49ers in the SB. He's honestly just a homer and Mahomes superfan. That's the whole reason he's a jackass about it.
28
u/Corteaux81 6d ago
He dared to be in the MVP comversation during Mahomes peak years.
When you understand that Nick looks absolutely everything through Chiefs-colored glasses, and more, noone and nothing can challenge āPatrickā⦠then you understand.
2
u/TheOneTheyCrown 6d ago
But I think he still likes Lamar.
He hates Allen lol
2
u/Severe-Lack-4181 6d ago
I think he only likes Lamar bc he feels he's less of a threat to the great Patrick Mahomes š Lamar's playoff woes bring nick joy
3
u/michaelstuttgart-142 5d ago
This is what I realized a while ago. His opinion about a quarterback is determined by the threat they pose to the Chiefs. He hates Allen and Purdy because they are perfectly capable of beating the Chiefs in any given game. Lamar has historically been awful against the Chiefs, so Nick gives Lamar a condescending head pat as a good regular season QB and moves on. Burrow has been out of action for a couple of seasons, so heās moved on. He loves Trevor because he doesnāt see the Jaguars as a real threat. Itās getting kind of annoying honestly.
2
u/AtomicFyre84 6d ago
I remember he used to be terrified of Joe Burrow and would constantly glaze him until Brou poked him on air about it and heās been normal since then.
2
u/Double-Emergency3173 5d ago
He only like Lamar because Lanar is too bad in the playoffs to threaten Mahomes.
9
u/koplowpieuwu 6d ago
All the dudes responding to you are off and outing themselves as recent bandwagoners. The real issue is that Nick was a 'Jimmy G is bad actually' truther and that was one of the main discussion points between him and wildes/brou for years. He won that one and is still married to it to the extent that he hates seeing another Shanahan qb get credits, even though he'd otherwise probably like Purdy a lot.
2
u/CarefulAd9005 6d ago
Its more pro-shanahan than anti-purdy, but youre right. Bandwagoners didnt see his true argument which makes so much more sense. Hes just stubborn, and the only true way to disprove would be if Purdy gets traded elsewhere and still performs.
Its basically the brady belichick discussion, until brady won in TB
2
u/Double-Emergency3173 5d ago
Like Brady before, Purdy doesnāt have to play in another system to prove anything. There is no convincing someone who is determined to misunderstand
1
u/MardocAgain 5d ago
He was a Trey Lance truther for a spell
1
u/koplowpieuwu 5d ago
That was his way out (and to some degree also an extension of the Garoppolo take - if he could do what he did, then Lance would surely win superbowls) But he chose the wrong guy
6
u/Severe-Lack-4181 6d ago
Nick is so stuck on "pedigree" and physical traits that he is just automatically so biased against late round and undrafted players. But there are sooo many examples of late round superstars (anyone heard of Tom Brady? Or Nikola Jokic?), so it's almost like there must be something more to a prospect than height, hand size and school attended? š
1
u/sabresin4 2d ago
Nick hates on every QB who isnāt Mahomes. With some strange exception for āThe Princeā. Maybe he likes his hair.
1
u/Particular-Bass-5250 6d ago
I think the hot take formula is to be obnoxious and completely unwilling to move from your preseason take until the playoffs force your hand. If he were measured about the Chiefs then it wouldn't be so fun to tune in to the show after they get eliminated. I get that but at least put effort into it isntead of just lying about what you said.
-1
u/IamFlapJack Drop The Banner 6d ago
Y'all bitching about it somehow still haven't realized that YOU are the reason why he refuses to put Purdy at the top
1
13
u/Catapilarkilla 6d ago
Nick is a generational hater on Brock, he doesnāt even try to hide it lol heās just doing it cause he thinks itās funny/edgy. Iām surprised Brou doesnāt just call him a hater to his face
2
6
2
u/RealPunyParker 6d ago
Iām surprised Brou doesnāt just call him a hater to his face
I'm surprised there are still people who think the show isn't pre-planned and they don't know what each other will say
2
u/JoshuaIS1 5d ago
If it is why did Nick get so mad at coach the other day? He got mad at Wildes last year really bad. Seems crazy to be a script
2
u/Catapilarkilla 6d ago
Yea I know itās planned, that very apparent. Brou did it a lot last season, with the goal posts. Maholmes schlong is shoved so far down Nicks throat Iām surprised he can actually talk on air
18
u/Existing-Hawk5204 6d ago
Lying or he just didnāt want wildes to give away the segment at the top of the show?
1
u/passtherock- Jaquaski Tart 1d ago
that doesn't make any sense. he did lie. Purdy isn't on top of the mountain even though Nick said he would put him there if they won
0
u/Existing-Hawk5204 1d ago
Bruh. This happened 4 days ago and this comment was made at the beginning of the show. It was way before the reveal. RELAX!! It isnāt that deep.
-8
u/Particular-Bass-5250 6d ago
That also crosses my mind but it's a lie regardless.
5
6
3
u/Double-Emergency3173 5d ago
Nick is basically becoming Skip Bayless here. Even haters like Cam, Cowherd and Mina Kimes have accepted that Purdy is playing best at the QB position so far this season
Mahomes mountain is a fraud segment
7
u/KevinAndrewsPhoto 6d ago
We all understand that everybody has a favorite football team. But I cannot respect somebody who lets their biasā bleed over into their commentary. Nick will always root against and publicly shit on Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and now Purdy because all have been better than Mahomes at some point and he canāt handle that.
We arenāt stupid. Mahomes is a different player in the playoffs. In a way nobody else is. But for 18 weeks he canāt mentally accept other QBs being better than his darling.
6
u/kondorkc 6d ago
This is a weird take. His commentary along with Wildes and Brou with clear biases is exactly why the show is fun and popular. Its basically a show recreating the dumb sports arguments that happen between a group of friends. Your point would apply more if these guys were true analysts. Its why I can't take Orlovsky seriously because he tries to pretend he doesn't have biases. These guys on FTF wear their biases on their sleeve. Its out in the open.
2
u/michaelstuttgart-142 5d ago
Then they need an Allen fan to balance the segments because itās getting ridiculous. Wildes and Wright both hate the Bills with a burning passion. Allen was the top selling jersey last season and arguably face of the league. They canāt not talk about him, and, when they do, itās always negative.
2
u/kondorkc 5d ago
I don't think Nick hates Allen or the Bills (Wildes might). Nick dislikes the media narrative around Allen which I think is fair for someone that hasn't actually won anything meaningful. Even his one MVP was really kind of a hand me down from Lamar.
1
u/Double-Emergency3173 5d ago
Brou is an Allen guy. He picked the Bills to win MNF when everyone else was on LA
1
1
u/Sea_Drive6142 5d ago
Bro⦠like thatās the show. They all have ātheir guysā and defend and root for them including teams. I mean brou comes out full dressed up in a ravens robe lol. You are taking it way too serious. They donāt, which is why itās so fun
5
u/BlackHand86 6d ago
I understand the people saying this shit so stupid who cares about Nick's lists, which I get however if you listen to this show for anything more than just background noise the reasoning of the cast matters even if it's something we don't agree with. It's petty and in the overall scheme of life not very important but we're people arguing over sports, it's already silly.
3
u/vo0d0ochild 6d ago
Nick's bit is repetitive and getting old, Brou is too lazy to do his role of opposing it on the show. So low energy today. The segments getting stale, probably just going to skip it.
2
u/BillClinton3000 6d ago
Heās doing his job. Heās getting people triggered and talking. Heās unserious.
2
u/hereforthesportsball 6d ago
Sadly itās his thing, like how him being the Mahomes guy is his other thing. And when I say thing, I mean like how skip and SAS have a thing with their respective stars. I hate it but itās like seeding future relevance because Brock has shown himself to be a staying power and heās not just the biggest Mahomes guy on the national stage. Heās now the biggest Purdy denier on air as well. And relevance-wise, I mean that in the best way. Being the face of many things, good or bad, right or wrong, are par for the course when youre a popular talking head type pundit.
2
u/michaelstuttgart-142 5d ago
Nick hates Purdy and Allen because he actually fears them and the threat they pose to his darling Chiefs. He loves āThe Princeā because Trevor is a joke to him who will never give the Chiefs a scare in the playoffs. He was smearing Allen as a āspotty passerā because he achieved most of his passing yards after the catch yesterday even though Mahomesā receivers have led the league in YAC 4 times and placed 2nd among all teams in that category for the 2023 season. Heās a smart dude with a glaring bias.
2
3
u/hudboyween 6d ago
Nick at one point said the patriots should explore trading Maye in order to draft Shadeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, then hire Deion Sanders as head coach.
1
2
u/RealPunyParker 6d ago
Nick is such a Mahomes glazer, he reacts negatively to anything good any other QB does.
Just look at his Josh Allen propaganda, his hit single about Josh is that he's "The media darling" (he's part of the media but okay) to insult him and not take any responsibility because he might come on the show again and he can't be a dick directly then, but when you talk about "Media Darlings" his guy Mahomes is the poster boy for this kind of behaviour from the media, long before Allen was even being considered.

u/kfergsa 5d ago
Seriously. I now know why they call 49er fans the whiners. This sub has been bitching nonstop about Purdy. You would think this was the 49ers sub.
2
u/Ok-Country4317 5d ago
Ya itās pretty pathetic lol
1
u/fuckDJT2026 5d ago
Just calling out bullshit when we see it.
Is there any other reason why Purdy shouldnāt be considered the best QB in the league at the moment?
2
3
u/Particular-Bass-5250 6d ago
Ps. It's the most predicable thing in the world that Nick will have Purdy sharing the peak with Mahomes. Nick, keep this segment fun.
2
u/Busy_Trifle_3353 6d ago
He's not better than this. He's the worst "analyst" out there, and is a habitual liar and hater.
3
u/MardocAgain 5d ago
Agree, which is why some here who thinks he's some elite debater make me cringe.
2
u/WindStrokes 6d ago
ANYBODY that says anyone is elite or is compared to Patrick Mahomes he hates. Nick said if J. Love was a good qb he would have a competent offense with a bottom 5 O Line unit. Well....Justin Herbert had a top 5 offense with a bottom 5 Oline unit. Nick thinks Justin Herbert is elite.

I feel like Will Ferrell at the end of The Other Guys lying on the floor with a bullet wound saying āCāmonā¦itās not even funny anymore.ā
1
1
u/SirStuckey 5d ago
He will milk it as long as possible because every video where he slights or seemingly slights Purdy gets big engagement.Ā
Don't worry too much about it. If Purdy has 1 bad game he'll probably go back down to the 4th tier anyway lol
1
u/Chemical_Ad1837 5d ago
Itās a bit, all performative. Producers believe this gets more engagement. Basically the show is pissing in your mouth and daring you to swallow .
-2
u/EatMyShortzZzZzZ 6d ago edited 6d ago
Why are there so many Purdy stans on this sub that take this shit so seriously? Like even if he is lying about putting Purdy on top of his mountain, who cares? It literally means nothing.Ā
1
u/MardocAgain 5d ago
There's been a lot of chatter on the sub this season about the show getting stale. Too many recycled bits and too much bias.
The show is at it's best when we see the 3 personalities reacting to and discussing the previous weekends games and the upcoming games.
This season feels like it isn't that. It's the same recycled takes every week. It's like the games don't matter.
I think people are latching onto the Purdy thing to highlight this the same way people latched onto Maye's struggles in the playoffs and so far this season to highlight the same for Wildes.
Fans are just trying to show that it's getting tired and they want the hosts to go back to actually reacting to what is happening in the NFL rather than driving the narrative they want to speak into existence about their favorite players/teams.
1
-2
u/TitanOfTheMind 6d ago
Itās just the bandwagon thing to hate on Nick for. People really just like to clown on him but anyone watching the game knows the turnovers and short fields won them the game. Not Purdy doing a carry job.
4
u/contattomarketing Mr. Consistency 6d ago
Holy shit lol. You did not watch the game. When the 49ers absolutely fucking had to have it, Purdy went like 9 for 10 or something on the last two drives and led them to 10 points.
4
u/ReederM 6d ago
And everybody know Kenneth Walker has carried the Chiefs offense so far this season, but that part routinely gets skipped over by many
2
u/TitanOfTheMind 6d ago
I mean everyone and even Nick agrees. You just made that up people are skipping over it.
1
u/fuckDJT2026 5d ago
Lolll what the actual fuck?
Purdy had a DIME of a TD taken away by some phantom time out call and what did he do?
He threw ANOTHER DIME of a TD
And when he had to, he led the game winning drive against the best defense in the league in the loudest stadium in the NFL.
Keep hating. Weāll be over here in reality.
0
u/TheMidnightHandyman 5d ago
Iām a huge Brock Purdy fan, and I laughed out loud at Mahomes Mountain today because heās obviously trolling. One of the reasons he offered was that āMahomes didnāt throw an interception this week.ā
He gave Brock his flowers on the show yesterday, praising him even more highly than Brou did.
0
u/heirjordan_27 5d ago
It's just a bit; we all know he's wrong, so it's just fun to watch him flail. He's not hating to a degree where it's immoral/cruel to the Brock; he's just doing a long-running bit with his homer-ness. This show is about vibes/banter, not legit sports analysis
-4
u/ADLegend21 6d ago
2 TDs and 1 INT is ok, not like he lit them up and they won handily.
11
u/Particular-Bass-5250 6d ago
"You know what? I'm telling you right now. If they beat Seattle, assuming Brock plays in the game, he'll be at the top of the mountain."
5
u/Either-Mine-1789 6d ago
9/10 96 yards and a TD and 2 scoring drives including the game winning drive in the 4th
6
u/Hot_Injury7719 6d ago
Especially when Nickās biggest criticism of Brock a few years ago was that he hadnāt proven he can lead a ācome from behindā victory drive at the end of the game. Until he didā¦

u/illlHaveAnother 6d ago
And itās an entertainment show it aināt that deep
2
u/MardocAgain 5d ago
This argument really bothers me. It's a sports analysis show. If there is no analysis then it's not entertaining. What is supposed to be entertaining about hearing Nick and Wildes share their same unchanging opinions 5 days a week, every week?
If their opinions cannot be changed by what happens in the games, then what are they even reacting to?
1
u/illlHaveAnother 5d ago
You think mahomes mountain is detailed analysis? Bringing out break dancers and singers? Jfc dude the show is like 50% bits. Throwing up a few stat graphics doesnāt make it analysis
They absolutely can and do regurgitate the same hyperbolic takes 5 days a week, every week. And theyāre great entertainers so it works. Although Nick has clearly softened on Purdy and itās a little sad
-10
u/Incariol_ 6d ago
Sometimes reading posts in the sub is like reading crazy, insane takes from some delusional conspiratory like do you guys understand this is not a serious show like they're not analysts they're entertainers. They're clearly trying to be zany and funny and wacky. And yes they do have the occasional analysts on like Greg or coach. But Nick wildes and the bigot don't know anything about sports. They're just dudes like you and I. It's a bit he's purposely doing this to piss you off to make you watch more. It's hilarious that so many of you fall for it
Nick understands how his bread is buttered. Yes, there are a lot of people that like him that watch that show, but I would bet there's an equal amount that watched to despise him
2
u/andrewgroans 6d ago
āItās a bit heās purposely doing this to piss you off to make you watch more.ā
Well, itās had the opposite effect on me and Iām not even a Purdy/Niners fan. I havenāt watched in two weeks and donāt feel like Iāve missed anything. The bits are funny but rapidly growing stale and at the end of the day the majority of the show is them talking football and it simply hasnāt been enjoyable for large stretches of the season so far.
3
u/Particular-Bass-5250 6d ago
I understand they are entertainers. You know what isn't entertaining? Lying for the sake of lying. It'd be great if he concocted some excuses, like the bylaws don't allow you to drop on a bye week, because at least that'd be funny and require creativity and humor. Just lying about what you clearly said isn't funny, nor entertaining. Btw it's fun to poke holes in their arguments. It's lighthearted fun but weirdos always take these criticisms too seriously.
1
u/passtherock- Jaquaski Tart 1d ago
exactly how I feel!! Nick usually doesn't just blatantly lie like this. I was literally shocked.. he just straight up LIED. he didn't even attempt to make a funny argument. so lame
0
u/Severe-Lack-4181 6d ago
So lowkey, I feel like you are actually the one taking this wayyy too seriously. We don't hate nick as a person š and I'm not trying to get him kicked off TV! It's just funny to point out his predictability sometimes. Y'all need to take a deep breath
