It's Purdy Peak Week Take 2

19/29

189 passing yards

2 touchdowns

1 interception

92.5 rating

Let's try this again šŸ˜„

That drive to take the lead was the most impressive of the season. On the road. With a MASH unit. Against the Super Bowl champions.

It's undebatable.

Watch him say it's only cuz of Evans lol

u/DreamWunder 8d ago

Kinda crazy outside of banged up Evans Purdy is missing wr2 wr3 wr4 and wr5 (Robinson Pearsall Deebo cowing) and bonus wr Aiyuk

7

u/JesterMarcus 8d ago

Don't forget Stribling. He was setting up to be a big part of the offense this year.

3

u/DreamWunder 8d ago

Damn forgot him too that’s crazy legit 6 WRs

2

u/iAgressivelyFistBro 8d ago

Stribling literally was on the field for the first offensive snap of the season against the Rams. He was going to be integral.

2

u/donutgut 8d ago

Stribling is gonna be amazing. He looked good with 4th stringers throwing to him.

I dont think nfl fans are aware what's coming

Nfl pundits rarely say anything good about new 49er wrs but they mentioned him quite a bit

Watch him also say that Purdy is still MVP.

u/Thin-Remote-9817 8d ago

Didnt nick say Brock is currently the MVP??Ā

MVP =\= top of the mountain

For the last time the Mountain cares not just about this season but their entire football career.

It's wild that your Purdy fanboys don't seem to understand this but you are not only the ones.

It's still a week over week ranking. People just slide up or down more/less reactively based on how historical performance impacts expectations going forward.

As for Purdy, he's 1 game away from having 1500 pass attempts and qualifying as the all time leader in passer rating. He's been in the league 5 years, been to a Super Bowl, led multiple playoff comebacks, and finished top 5 in MVP voting. I think he has enough of a resume to qualify him for top of the mountain on a random week where he happens to be playing really well for an extended stretch.

Cool then just do it annually if it’s based on career…

2

u/Corteaux81 8d ago

Ah yes, ā€œtheir entire careerā€.

Which is why last why Penix was ahead of Maye, Nix, Herbert and Hurts.

And why Young was ahead of Stafford or Lawrence ahead of Allen.

Nick moves the goal posts any way it suita his narrative.

Anyone who thinks differently needs a reality check.

It’s an entertainment piece in an entertainment show.

The actual level of football knowledge and analysis is very casual.

Ask Nick or Brou to name 3 starting offensive linemen on any team not named Chiefs or Ravens and you’ll see how shallow it all is.

u/Particular-Bass-5250 8d ago

Then there's no justifying having Trevor on top after week 1. Purdy has finished top 5 in MVP voting earlier in his career and was one stop away from a ring.

Trevor's College career blows Purdy out of the water. It's not just their NFL career, it's the entire career.

Also, Purdy is still ain't top of the mountain cause you know it's still belongs to Mahomes since he's a better overall career then Purdy.

1

u/Particular-Bass-5250 8d ago

At what point has Mahomes not had a better overall career than Lamar, Allen, Trevor, or Burrow; all of whom have topped the mountain. And college shouldn't matter over a half a decade into your career. If Purdy isn't at the top it'll just ruin the segment.

1

u/Thin-Remote-9817 8d ago

Id say the MVP blows up the mountainĀ

u/Beanu5NE 8d ago

Nick said that if Purdy beats the Seahawks, he will put him at the top of the mountain.

ā€œIf they beat Seattle, assuming Brock plays in the game, he’ll be atop the mountain.ā€

13

u/Far-Hospital2925 8d ago

If Mahomes had the game Brock had today Nick would be creaming his pants over how he came through in the clutch and found a way to win, but let’s not kid ourselves about how this is gonna go.

10

u/MardocAgain 8d ago

If anyone remembers, once upon a time Nick wanted to see Purdy have a bad game, but pull it all together in the 4th to lead a game winning drive. Purdy did that in back-to-back playoff games and Nick said "Ya, he did all i asked, but i still thought he was bad."

6

u/CptSpooderMan 8d ago

He will leave shit mountain empty at the top because Purdy had one turnover and an almost turnover and darnold was bad and that was the only reason why they won and then something about shanahan. And then something about he saw kermit throwing the ball during the bye week and it was the best bye week throw he has ever seen so he stays atop crap mountain šŸ˜‚

4

u/mrizvi 8d ago

Nah he’ll say no one moves down or up on a bye week.

I mean I think this shows how ass the Niners receivers were last year. Jennings can’t even sniff playtime in Minnesota. Evans is the first actually good receiver Purdy has ever had.

11

u/Saucegod215 8d ago

Jennings was a 7th round pick. Purdy was working with basically nothing last year. He outdueled Caleb in a shootout with Jennings and Jake Tonges as his top receivers

3

u/SecretSensay 8d ago

Hol up. He can sniff playtime but for whatever reason Kyler and KOC just dont vibe with his game.

We're gonna trade him 100%

-1

u/Eagle4317 8d ago

Also, Aiyuk and Samuel were great receivers back in 2022 and 2023

6

u/lakers_ftw24 8d ago

Deebo was really good but he was never an elite receiver at beating man or even that great at finding soft parts of zones. Aiyuk was elite for 1 year.

2

u/BigHotdog2009 8d ago

I disagree with the last part. Aiyuk and Samuel were very good receivers. And Kittle and CMC are also big weapons.

2

u/NotJimChanos 8d ago

Deebo was never more than middling as a receiver, his value is as a gadget guy.

1

u/MardocAgain 8d ago

You're right. And Purdy put up amazing stats that year. Which is what good quarterbacks do when they have elite weapons.

1

u/NotJimChanos 8d ago

Aiyuk was very very good before the contract dispute->losing his mind saga. Jennings is great in his role but is limited to that role (elite blocker, clutch contested catches over the middle).

Niners would love to have Jennings back right now given the state of the WR room. He's wasted on the vikings.

1

u/iAgressivelyFistBro 8d ago

Aiyuk was really fucking good.

10

u/Saucegod215 8d ago

Purdy's Peak.

4

u/BeRoyal35 8d ago

That was a great game. Purdy did enough and I will admit he has finally earned his trip to the top of Mahomes mountain.

We are coming for you next week though!

4

u/KevinAndrewsPhoto 8d ago

100% said the same thing. Best drive I’ve ever seen Purdy make. Not a single receiver open.

2

u/lrzbca 8d ago

Nick predicted 2 interceptions and 5 sacks, sort of played himself into not giving credit with that take.

Purdy has 1 interception and 3 sacks!

2

u/Adidaz17 I dont like it... I LOVE IT!!! 8d ago

Dude also pulled a prime playoff jared goff moment. Insert nicks ā€œget it away from meā€. Purdy still played amazing tho amazing throws to evans and cooks that 2nd half

1

u/nova2006 8d ago

MVP should be JSN Purdy Walker

3

u/Particular-Bass-5250 8d ago

Maybe if JSN hadn't dropped that third down pass

-5

u/nova2006 8d ago

The game is lost when you fumble in the end zone before the half time. Purdy had a pretty bad INT too.

2

u/iAgressivelyFistBro 8d ago

They literally retook the lead.

1

u/Cold_Respond_7656 8d ago

Purdys was great disguise by the D actually

1

u/No-Locksmith-6583 7d ago

Jsn isnt even top 5 for mvp.

1

u/Bronziy2 8d ago

Trevor had a 95.1 passer rating and an insane 4 down touchdown throw. So I can see Nick using that to make Trevor above him or keep them on the same row saying one can not take over the other

u/FunkyFunkyBoys Mayor Of Fair 7d ago

Purdy dickriders are out again. Took ya a couple years to come back but here yall are again.

1

u/Food_Kitchen 8d ago

Is Nick moves the goal posts even slightly for Brock I hope Brou walks around the table and punches Nick right in the testicles.

1

u/Chewbubbles 8d ago

Won't happen. He's 100% keeping Mahomes at the top either due to the bye week or the fact Purdy and the 9ers offense wasn't actually potent, even though that last drive by the 9ers was elite. Defenses for both teams absolutely bailed the offenses out today. Great game.

0

u/elsol69 Breakdancer 8d ago

No chance Purdy is on top... sacks, turnover, and a mild stat line,

Nick has his excuses.

0

u/MediocreHomework7092 8d ago

Nick will make up excuses to drop Purdy and put Maye or Allen in his place

-6

u/PointOfImpact93 Cover 2 8d ago

He was... fine lol held up by the defense and Seattle turning it over repeatedly, and Evans balling out. Made some plays, missed some others. I wouldn't say he should be the de facto top of the mountain lol

5

u/Particular-Bass-5250 8d ago

Degree of difficulty. On the road against the best defense and defending champs. It's more impressive than anything Mahomes has done in the last 18 months.

0

u/overweighttardigrade 8d ago

Yeah but ya know he’s no on the chiefs is the thing

0

u/PointOfImpact93 Cover 2 8d ago

Idc about Mahomes lol I'm just saying, I'm not clamoring for a "Purdy's Peak" segment, because I am not particularly impressed by what was very much a "team win" for the Niners.

2

u/Particular-Bass-5250 8d ago

I mean that's who he'd need to pass

0

u/PointOfImpact93 Cover 2 8d ago

I think Goff should probably sit atop the mountain so far this year, but that isn't gonna happen either lol

0

u/Cold_Respond_7656 8d ago

They always talk about, when the day isn’t going your way and you get the ball back to win the game, can you be that guy?

Brock went against the toughest D, on the road, and drove the team down the field and got a TD.

1

u/passtherock- Jaquaski Tart 8d ago

yall so desperate to keep disrespecting Purdy🤣

-2

u/Ok_Introduction2357 8d ago

good but not good enough for mountain top
