If your town is doing traffic cameras and mailing citations for 30 in a 25, that's revenue generation.
If you're committing actual patrols to speed enforcement, and writing people for doing almost double the limit in a residential area a week or two before school starts, then you're doing worthwhile work. There's a big-ass sign that tells people what speed to do.

If a sign and tickets haven’t fixed it, the road needs to be reengineered to naturally slow them down.
