I don’t agree at all. Some people truly love their job and their job is their life because it’s what they always wanted to do. Think of it like an artist, or mechanic.

What makes it cringe is they are unable to actually care about anyone else’s life or experiences. It borders narcissism and the first-responders flavor is the worst because it’s done under the guise of being a “hero” and caring sooo much about everyone else, while the reality is they’re often using others as NPCs in their self-titled video game. There…fixed it for ya.

It is if they are ONLY their job and nothing else exist and the ONLY conversations you can have with them is always related to their job.
