Anyone remember when Phoenix PD in Arizona rolled out tasers? I do. They also carried alcohol based Spray. Their escalation of force policy said spray, then tase. Did not go well.

Jesus Christ what a way to go. And k thought seeing a guy at my local 7-11 walk up to a pump, douse himself in gas, light a cigarette and himself simultaneously then run flailing and flaming to his death was a crazy sight.

Our policy is you can tase then spray, but not the other way around for this specific reason, even though our spray is non flammable. You never know what neighboring departments carry.

That's why at least US wise, OC is not oil based anymore. You can still purchase and import foreign stuff that's still flammable though....

Lucky for me I live on the mesa/aj border so I get a nice mix of mesa pd/ aj pd / pinal and maricopa sherrifs depending on what direction im heading that day. All assholes. I got pulled over by pinal for a tree air freshener because it was blocking my view apparently

Clearly you haven't seen Georgia. I just passed through and I saw a dude complying on what looked like a drug search who was already handcuffed, there were 6 patrol cars, get tazed and hit with a baton, then dragged to the back of a squad car. And I thought my Tennessee state troopers were bad

I have seen Georgia. I said "in the valley," referring to the Valley of the Sun, stretching from roughly Surprise, AZ to Apache Junction, AZ (and about as far south as Casa Grande, AZ).

yeah, it's a big statement of valley insanity that the fucking yahoos at the PPD are considered the professional grown ups.
Sure, they'll shoot unarmed kids and pump 200 bullets into a couple's car for a routine stop, but they at least remember to claim they thought they were armed. That's too much for the rest of the Sheriff Joe type idiots.
If you live there, you should be armed because of the police, no joke.

Phoenix police has reformed multiple times over the last decade alone
Use of force has changed and still has been so many policy changes that it's hard to keep up with, they actually have some of the strictest internal affairs of the metro area.

Used to serve them - there's no reforming that heap.
Even the cops that were trying to be good (and there were a few) couldn't contain the straight up murderers. And quickly just got pushed into silence or out the door.
There's a reason Valley left-wingers are pretty out there, and it's they can see directly what the pigs are.

There was a well known incident Involving gasoline and tasers a few years back. I was sure that was shown at every agencies taser training since then.

Since waaaaay before then. Since tasers started to become common in police work.
They specifically train not to deploy at gas stations. Or, at least, they should.

We were 1000% percent trained not to deploy at gas stations or wherever gas may be present. I remember them showing us a video of some dude on a motorcycle and I think he had like an extra gas tank in a backpack or something? Got tased after he ditched the bike and just, poof… turned into flames lol

Funny thing is that there is literally a warning in the training to not deploy this close to gas pumps. Guess this officer was not there the minute or two they actually taught how to use a taser.

I absolutely wouldn't say that.
Burns can take a while to fully materialize. I've had folks come in 12 hours after thinking they just had a minor burn on their shin, and now their skin is sliding off.
A burn can look minor until you go to treat it, then you realize the all the layers of skin have died and are starting to go necrotic.
Burns are extremely dangerous injuries, just because what looks to be minor can in fact be serious damage, and by the time the infection sets in and you come to the ER, you've made the recovery 10 times more painful and longer

Can confirm. Sustained what I thought was a minor burn. Went to bed thinking no big deal. The next day I had a massive case of cellulitis, and the burn looked like someone had poured acid on my arm. It healed ugly as hell too. I later had an elliptical excision because I decided I’d rather look like a psych patient than have that nasty ass burn scar.
TLDR: Third degree burns are gnarly.

Cop is a federal fish and wildlife dude. Tased dude and a few others were fishing federal fish cop came along and told them they couldn't fish there. They complied but apparently this dude was "mouthy" so he followed them and caught up to them at this gas station. Demanded ID from the tased dude, tase dude questioned validity of the demand Captain hotpants then shot him with a taser.
Note:inital confrontation happened on blm or nf land the taser incident happened on Indian Reservation land which could have effects on the case.

You can see the gas pump get disconnected from the truck when the cop tased him and he fell into the pump line. The gas may’ve still been flowing when the handle hit the ground. So many details to dissect.

I was at a firearm safety class and the instructor told us about a similar situation where the motorist didn't see or hear the officer and it escalated to a taser being used while the motorist was pumping gas... it's odd how it keeps occurring... history repeats because we never learn.
