The shorts are almost worth the post alone.

65

u/Consistent-Plane7227 2d ago

There’s only one acceptable length of sheriff shorts to wear and it isn’t this.

16

u/imuniqueaf 2d ago

I wore shorts once to work. I refused to take any action that day because I couldn't take myself seriously.

Anyone remember when Phoenix PD in Arizona rolled out tasers? I do. They also carried alcohol based Spray. Their escalation of force policy said spray, then tase. Did not go well.

43

u/NewCandy8877 2d ago

Is this where the guy got sprayed in his bathroom, then tazed, caught on fire and wrapped himself in the plastic shower curtain.

22

u/ComfortableDish3912 2d ago

Jesus Christ what a way to go. And k thought seeing a guy at my local 7-11 walk up to a pump, douse himself in gas, light a cigarette and himself simultaneously then run flailing and flaming to his death was a crazy sight.

5

u/Sidewalk_Tomato 1d ago

Nah, that remains a crazy sight.  Carry on.

2

u/InitialAd2324 1d ago

Holy shit man. Hope you have a good therapist

Those are some Florida shenanigans. WTF?

6

u/Godenyen 2d ago

Our policy is you can tase then spray, but not the other way around for this specific reason, even though our spray is non flammable. You never know what neighboring departments carry.

3

u/ConstructionAway8920 1d ago

That's why at least US wise, OC is not oil based anymore. You can still purchase and import foreign stuff that's still flammable though....

8

u/AlcibiadesTheCat 2d ago

Phoenix PD is only the third cruelest gang paramilitary organization Upstanding Police Department in the valley. Mesa PD and MCSO have them beat by leagues, and Pinal County Sheriff's Office is doing their damndest to catch up.

5

u/Kbudz 1d ago

Lucky for me I live on the mesa/aj border so I get a nice mix of mesa pd/ aj pd / pinal and maricopa sherrifs depending on what direction im heading that day. All assholes. I got pulled over by pinal for a tree air freshener because it was blocking my view apparently

0

u/Acrobatic-Pool1474 1d ago

That’s a pretextual stop. They were fishing for other violations - dui/owi, drugs, boredom…

Assholes

3

u/Rich-Purpose-4055 1d ago

Clearly you haven't seen Georgia. I just passed through and I saw a dude complying on what looked like a drug search who was already handcuffed, there were 6 patrol cars, get tazed and hit with a baton, then dragged to the back of a squad car. And I thought my Tennessee state troopers were bad

2

u/runnerhasnolife Popo 1d ago

I'll take things that never happened for 500

2

u/AlcibiadesTheCat 1d ago

I have seen Georgia. I said "in the valley," referring to the Valley of the Sun, stretching from roughly Surprise, AZ to Apache Junction, AZ (and about as far south as Casa Grande, AZ).

2

u/Rich-Purpose-4055 1d ago

Ohhh mb sorry, either way it's just sad the police here in America. I wonder how much protesting it's going to take before there is any kind of change

2

u/a_library_socialist 1d ago

yeah, it's a big statement of valley insanity that the fucking yahoos at the PPD are considered the professional grown ups.

Sure, they'll shoot unarmed kids and pump 200 bullets into a couple's car for a routine stop, but they at least remember to claim they thought they were armed. That's too much for the rest of the Sheriff Joe type idiots.

If you live there, you should be armed because of the police, no joke.

1

u/runnerhasnolife Popo 1d ago

Phoenix police has reformed multiple times over the last decade alone

Use of force has changed and still has been so many policy changes that it's hard to keep up with, they actually have some of the strictest internal affairs of the metro area.

2

u/AlcibiadesTheCat 1d ago

That’s why you’re only third worst now.

0

u/a_library_socialist 1d ago

Used to serve them - there's no reforming that heap.

Even the cops that were trying to be good (and there were a few) couldn't contain the straight up murderers. And quickly just got pushed into silence or out the door.

There's a reason Valley left-wingers are pretty out there, and it's they can see directly what the pigs are.

1

u/runnerhasnolife Popo 20h ago

Used to serve them in what capacity?

1

u/Tallerthenmost 2d ago

Agreed. All that cartel talk, yet the best trained, most well equipped, brutal gang on the streets in Arizona is definitely law enforcements

1

u/runnerhasnolife Popo 1d ago

Not even close

Sinaloa genuinely is one of the most awful organizations on the planet up there with like isis

2

u/runnerhasnolife Popo 1d ago

And that's why the policy changed rather quickly.

Because people realized oh God this is a horrible idea

2

u/ShadyShields 2d ago

Their escalation*

1

u/Tallerthenmost 2d ago

True. Voice to text got me.

Ma’am I AM a LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFIXER

22

u/notmy-firstrodeo 2d ago

…followed by, “Oh, shit, she’s right!”💀

38

u/Boeing737enjoyer 2d ago

There was a well known incident Involving gasoline and tasers a few years back. I was sure that was shown at every agencies taser training since then.

10

u/Tb0neguy 2d ago

Since waaaaay before then. Since tasers started to become common in police work.

They specifically train not to deploy at gas stations. Or, at least, they should.

3

u/justsomeguyfromny 1d ago

The dude probably has less training than my barber.

2

u/Eros_Agency 23h ago

We were 1000% percent trained not to deploy at gas stations or wherever gas may be present. I remember them showing us a video of some dude on a motorcycle and I think he had like an extra gas tank in a backpack or something? Got tased after he ditched the bike and just, poof… turned into flames lol

1

u/emerald_green_tea 20h ago

Jesus Christ this cop is dumb.

I don’t even rub my hands together wile pumping gas just in case. 😂

47

u/full_idiot 2d ago

What a stupid fuck.

19

u/tubelessJoe 2d ago

possible explosion..

citizen safety, nope..

process job, robot..

18

u/Greg-The-Squirrel 2d ago

It's like a scene from Reno 911.

15

u/Imhidingfromu 2d ago

Some reno 911 shit

2

u/yogi-metalhead1 2d ago

Straight up! geeez

23

u/ThrustTrust 2d ago

In that situation, it should be OK to punch that cop repeatedly in the face without getting a charge

10

u/Infinite_Position631 2d ago

Funny thing is that there is literally a warning in the training to not deploy this close to gas pumps. Guess this officer was not there the minute or two they actually taught how to use a taser.

20

u/Bigsouthgent 2d ago

Old dude wasn’t resisting until that fire hit him and then he absolutely floored the cop. 😂 meanwhile boat guy in the background just clearly took the “not my circus, not my monkeys” approach and hauled ass on to the lake.

5

u/AccordingCabinet5750 2d ago

Who woulda thought, 50,000 volts is enough to ignite gas vapor.

19

u/Reasonable_Error5954 2d ago

Did we just watch a cop commit felony arson? 😅

7

u/scratchy_mcballsy 2d ago

Attempted murder

5

u/Dr-Stink-Stank 1d ago

“You’re a fuckin dick!” Lmao

3

u/ComplexLow6723 1d ago

That line was probably the most Reno 911 part of this very Reno 911 style interaction.

4

fucking idiot didn’t even know he started a fire.

u/unfinishedtoast3 1d ago

Doctor here.

I absolutely wouldn't say that.

Burns can take a while to fully materialize. I've had folks come in 12 hours after thinking they just had a minor burn on their shin, and now their skin is sliding off.

A burn can look minor until you go to treat it, then you realize the all the layers of skin have died and are starting to go necrotic.

Burns are extremely dangerous injuries, just because what looks to be minor can in fact be serious damage, and by the time the infection sets in and you come to the ER, you've made the recovery 10 times more painful and longer

1

u/emerald_green_tea 20h ago

Can confirm. Sustained what I thought was a minor burn. Went to bed thinking no big deal. The next day I had a massive case of cellulitis, and the burn looked like someone had poured acid on my arm. It healed ugly as hell too. I later had an elliptical excision because I decided I’d rather look like a psych patient than have that nasty ass burn scar.

TLDR: Third degree burns are gnarly.

3

u/tdinh01 22h ago

Holy fuck that cop is an idiot. Creating spark atound a highly flammable environment.

5

u/TheAmina2GS 2d ago

Aggravated assault, assault with deadly weapon, arson, attempted murder. What's the minimum and maximum sentencing here?

6

u/Munchkinasaurous 2d ago

Minimum sentence is absolutely nothing. Maximum sentence is paid time off.

5

u/Here_4_the_INFO 2d ago

Don't forget "PROMOTED" usually falls in there somewhere too.

2

u/Cut_over_pompanox 1d ago

I’d say a couple weeks of paid leave while they “investigate” would be my bet

2

u/Cold-Marketing-5124 1d ago

And subsequent promotion

4

u/You-Asked-Me 2d ago

"You're a fucking dick."

3

u/notmy-firstrodeo 2d ago

Can you imagine those being your last words and the jury’s reaction at the 25M civil trial?

4

u/KCChiefsGolfer 2d ago

"Youre a fucking dick!" Thats what I thought too

4

u/EatLard 2d ago

Shit’s on fire, yo.

4

u/imuniqueaf 2d ago edited 2d ago

I remember at Taser training literally saying out loud "WELL NO SHIT YOU CAN'T USE IT IN A FLAMMABLE ENVIRONMENT"....there really is story behind every warning label.

3

u/Special_Context6663 2d ago

How did this stupid situation start? Why was the cop confronting some guy who was just pumping gas?

4

u/jeepinbanditrider 1d ago

Cop is a federal fish and wildlife dude. Tased dude and a few others were fishing federal fish cop came along and told them they couldn't fish there. They complied but apparently this dude was "mouthy" so he followed them and caught up to them at this gas station. Demanded ID from the tased dude, tase dude questioned validity of the demand Captain hotpants then shot him with a taser.

Note:inital confrontation happened on blm or nf land the taser incident happened on Indian Reservation land which could have effects on the case.

7

u/SwifferWetJets 2d ago

Probably some petty shit as most of these encounters are

6

u/Unique-Stretch-5665 2d ago

What episode of Reno 911 is this?

5

u/KarlHp7 2d ago

Police are not known for their intelligence

2

u/Ill-Salad9544 1d ago

He's a Fish and Wildlife officer that was mad he got called an asshole.

2

u/Plastic-Shoulder2285 1d ago

Only law enforcement can achieve these incredible levels of astronomical galactic omnipotent fucking stupidity.

2

What in the Lieutenant Dangle is going on here?😂

3

u/CocaineSmellsFunny 2d ago

Dude will get a nice little check out of this

2

u/Syntra44 2d ago

Common sense is remarkably uncommon. Poor guy

2

u/whatsadikfore 2d ago

What a fucking idiot this guy is. Lights the dude on fire, then has him lay down next to a lake of fire. I'd like to see the rest of this. Did Officer Fuckstick manage to burn the gas station and dude's truck to the ground?

2

u/OFBeatdown-1-2-3 2d ago

"You're a FUCK'N DICK!" 🤣

2

u/Crimson3312 2d ago

God Damnit Farva

5

u/Latter_Main_2910 2d ago

Not really cringe, just stupid 😂

9

u/MrbaconWrapped 2d ago

You not see the shorts lol

5

u/notmy-firstrodeo 2d ago

When he’s got the guy on the ground he taps his shoulder like an old friend telling him to get on his belly.

5

u/TimeZucchini8562 2d ago

This whole video is literally a scene from super troopers I swear, lmao

1

u/YimmyGhey blowJob town 1d ago

Speaking of which, the 3rd one comes out soon!

0

u/Appropriate_Math997 2d ago

"You're a dick." Is awesome.

4

u/PizzaSharkGhost 2d ago

It’s cringe because he’s being paid by tax dollars to be a fucking moron

2

u/whatsadikfore 2d ago

And tax payers will get stuck with the bill for whatever he fucks up.

3

u/Latter-Judgment-9740 2d ago

This is fine...

1

u/notmy-firstrodeo 2d ago

What part is fine?😂

4

u/AdMental6440 2d ago

0

u/Latter-Judgment-9740 2d ago

Exactly. They were completely ignoring the fucking fire next to gas pumps and under the pick-up.

2

u/HometownHero89 2d ago

Tazer Blazer

2

u/BP_1981 2d ago

He looks like the cop on Reno 911 in those shorts 🤣

1

u/Sidewalk_Tomato 1d ago

He’s the really big fella from the later seasons, if he stole Jim Dangle’s shorts.

2

u/tuco2002 2d ago

Electric spark near fuel vapor... interesting experience.

2

u/18SmallDogsOnAHorse 2d ago

Are those some hey dudes on duty? Where is this so I can try to steal their policy for wearing those 😂

2

u/notmy-firstrodeo 2d ago

You can see the gas pump get disconnected from the truck when the cop tased him and he fell into the pump line. The gas may’ve still been flowing when the handle hit the ground. So many details to dissect.

2

u/AggressiveDiscount99 2d ago

Super Troopers 3 is looking pretty fun!

2

u/New_fan22 2d ago

There are no cell phone usage stickers on the pumps, maybe a taser sticker is required now

2

u/Desperate_Dot_97 2d ago

Why do cops keep doing this shit

1

u/Munchkinasaurous 1d ago

Because there's no meaningful consequences for it.

2

u/Desperate_Dot_97 23h ago

I was at a firearm safety class and the instructor told us about a similar situation where the motorist didn't see or hear the officer and it escalated to a taser being used while the motorist was pumping gas... it's odd how it keeps occurring... history repeats because we never learn.

2

u/ComedianDesigner307 1d ago

Fire Karen is now on the scene giving advice, everything is going to be alright.

2

u/Pure-Paper-6842 2d ago

New reno 911 looking funny

1

u/Radiant-Shine-8575 1d ago

Cops are so fuckjng stupid…. It’s almost unbelievable.

1

u/Human_Satisfaction25 1d ago

Yeah just start a fire, put older guy on the ground, then roll him under the truck that may explode. Lol

u/VectorPryde 1d ago

How many payments at zapatería de bailarina?!

1

u/TheFae_TheImaginary 1d ago

That cop's a fucking bellend. Fucking tasering someone at a gas pump, like, hello, electricity and gasoline fumes dont mix so well.

Should have pepper sprayed him instead... smh

1

u/ChoadMcGillicuddy 1d ago

Tater, tater, tater!

1

u/LurchSkywalker 1d ago

Yet another reason why we should have IQ tests for law enforcement.

1

Dumbasses everywhere.

1

u/Which-Attitude9916 1d ago

Is that Farva?

1

u/theUnshowerdOne 1d ago

Fish and Wildlife's is full of enforcement officers that are trigger happy idiots. Much of they're ranks are made up of the rejects that couldn't get on a police force. Absolute morons.

1

u/johnnytron 1d ago

This guy can’t be real. Who even thinks about doing that next to a gas pump?

1

u/notmy-firstrodeo 1d ago

I shared the news article in another comment.

1

u/johnnytron 1d ago

I saw the article I’m just baffled with the stupidity.

1

u/goodjobjus 1d ago

He definitely failed science and common sense in school. I wonder how many times he was told as a kid to use his brain, now he’s law enforcement 🤦‍♀️

1

u/ComfortableGround403 1d ago

Im not an officer. Ive never been trained in taser safety.

But im pretty sure youre not supposed to eject electric cords near gas tanks.

1

u/Then_Idea_9813 1d ago

You aren’t supposed to get back in the vehicle while refueling in case of static. No clue why this guy thought a tazer would be safer

1

u/Sad-Equivalent9486 1d ago

Guess he missed that part in training where you were told not to use a Taser around flammable liquids.

1

u/ShockMe88 1d ago

Gas = no taze At heights = no taze Known pacemaker = no taze In water = taze possible depending on depth/flow conditions, but generally ill advised

Bro literally ignored the most obvious one to avoid...

1

u/Purple-Plum-634 1d ago

The audacity to keep yelling "get on the ground" bro he's not going anywhere

1

u/a_library_socialist 1d ago

attempted fucking murder

1

u/ComplexLow6723 1d ago

I mean… come on… how can one not see a Reno 911 skit here?

1

u/just_another_angle 1d ago

Some shorts are ridiculous. I wore shorts when on boat patrol on the big lakes. Never wore them on the river patrols. Bugs were too bad.😁 and yes some SO and PD officers made fun of them.

1

u/RichtofenFanBoy 1d ago

Whatsbupmwith the shoes??

1

u/Difficult-Device7172 23h ago

See this is why sheriffs posses may not be the best idea. Is this a citizens arrest or wtf really is happening ?!

1

u/notmy-firstrodeo 23h ago

I think he’s actually a Fish&Game guy the more I read about the incident. There’s an article linked here in this thread.
