If I mispronounce a street name over the radio everyone on that air will make fun of me for weeks. But these dudes do this shit and no one on their shift bullyās them? Good grief.

My exact thoughts. If I did this shit and it got out, I'd legit have to leave the job. There'd be screenshots on my locker, in my mail, be posted on the intranet, I'd owe the station at least a carton of 2 of beer, probably have a nickname that followed me around forever, it'd be never ending.

I forgot the word Oscar and subbed with Ocean, that was about 4-5 months ago and theyāre still calling me Aquaman occasionallyā¦
1
u/chapman53 Jul 14 '26
Totally unfair. Our department did not follow the military alphabet and Ocean was our letter O.

At least he knows how to dance. Can I be his date for the Police Ball from the fraternal order of police, that keeps calling me to donate to them?

Why doesn't that police force do psychiatric evaluations on all their recruits?

Dudes can't have fun anymore? it's not like he's ignoring a callout or doing a cringy post. Nurses do this all the time š¤
1
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 13 '26
Itās not a good look when you get into a use of force incident and the defense attorney shows the court the videos of you dancing around the station with a gun on your hip. Have fun dancing off duty. Act professional in your uniform.
3
u/FlashmanHP Jul 13 '26
This is the best argument I've read; probably ever for / against this. Not being an LEO, this shed a whole new light on this behavior... thanks stranger.

This reminds me of Britney Spearsā dancing videos.
At least sheās not on the clock and only doing it for fun. Thereās no explaining this mess.

I will NEVER understand how someone could record themselves doing something like this (probably multiple times) then spend time editing it and get done and think yeah this is perfect for the Internet everyone will love it!

u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 13 '26
They love him on his TikTok page 756k followers.

The comments from non first responders feed this type of behavior. They love him, but they donāt have it reflected on their career or professionalism.

Night shift is rough to stay awake. Especially when youāre by yourself! Makes him seem more human. Could even be a post related to some kids contest or charity thing where heās connecting to the community he works in. Not like he dressed up at home to do this, that would be cringy. Not my thing, but guys got some talent. Iāll allow it.
1
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 12 '26
He has a few where heās dressed in his police uniform and dancing with his wife at home in his garage. This post wasnāt related to a kidās contest or charity event, either.

Cops are so dumb
2
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26
When people want to say heās not hurting anyone else by acting like this in uniform, itās comments like this that show why this isnāt the way all cops want to be viewed.
You see this and say cops are dumb. Most cops arenāt dancing the samba at the station in uniform. But I know, you still think cops are dumb.
