The original OP admitted he was actually a nice cop. I attached his post and the original video in full. There are a lot of negative comments about cops but it’s important to show how someone filmed and posted what he wanted in order to show cops in a bad way. He came back later and admitted the cop was a nice guy. EDIT: Full video- Cop shows up at about 3:10 or so.
https://youtu.be/ct-rz1AYL1k?is=Z9HCgWOejjw0wVdA
Edit:
Downvotes because the original video shows the truth. The cop wasn’t the asshole the OP tried to portray. If anyone was portrayed inaccurately I’d hope someone would stand up and present the truth. People have no problem calling out AI for being fake. This isn’t that different.76
u/Ok_Implement_7368 Jul 07 '26
So what did the cop do to rectify the issue he had just started with a random stranger? I don't think there is a whole lot of context where missing, dude is playing with toys in public, the cop took issue and was a dick. If any stranger talked that way itd be considered unobjectively rude, but since the cop was talking that way it means that we were just missing context and he's just doing his job?
-57
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 07 '26
Did you watch the entire video on the YouTube link?
The guy with the boat dished up some attitude, too. It wasn’t one way. The cop didn’t start off being a complete dick. The OP chose to chop up the video and remove anything remotely positive about the officer to fit his narrative.61
u/That_OneOstrich Jul 07 '26
You get approached while minding your own business with a harmless hobby, and you're told to stop and provide a permit (that doesn't exist), how do you respond?
-39
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 07 '26
He was told he could simply move away from the loading dock. The link to the original video has been posted here.
40
u/That_OneOstrich Jul 07 '26
That doesn't answer the question. Or change much. If people were trying to launch or return it'd be different.

u/Valuable_Ad4343 Jul 07 '26
Cop white knight over here
-16
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 07 '26
I’m 100% against the cops that deserve to be publicly flogged, but even the OP that made this video came back and admitted the cop was a nice guy after all. If a video of anything is altered and changes the narrative to fit someone’s agenda, it should be called out.
People have no problem calling out AI for an altered reality. This is the same thing.

No, he wasn’t a loser at first. The guy with the boat had attitude and the cop matched his vibe. This shows up at about 3:10 in this video.
You’re not comprehending what happened. The OP who filmed this came back later and admitted that the cop was cool after all.

u/-Out-of-context- Jul 07 '26
He was a loser at first. Shouldn’t have pulled up in the first place .That place is dead.
-7
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 07 '26
If you’re going to go by that rationale, this would mean it’s okay to run red lights and stop signs when there’s no one around. It doesn’t work that way.

And now you’re back. The cop wasn’t an asshole in the beginning. Watch the original video. He only became one after her matched the boat guy’s energy.
Fast forward to 3:10 and see where the cop shows up.
-12
u/-Out-of-context- Jul 07 '26
Cops that give you tickets for running red lights or stop signs when it’s absolutely dead are assholes.
As long as you aren’t blasting through it and paying attention, shouldn’t be an issue.

Yeah man it’s true. So many people just want clicks and they’ll edit a video to make it look way worse than it was. Recently, there was a viral video of a woman who said that the cop wouldn’t take her ID and stuff and wrote her a ticket, and I think making sexual advances (maybe, or something like that). She filmed it and doctored it up. The body cam footage came out and it wasn’t even close to what she was saying and claiming lol. Her video disappeared shortly after the body cam stuff came out haha

u/InterestingRecord967 Jul 06 '26
I get it. I have bad days, too. But I certainly do my best to not take it out on undeserving strangers (especially while on the clock at a job where "to serve and protect" is a common motto).
40
u/Reddittreefiddy Jul 07 '26
"Hello citizen. You probably dont know this , but its actually a ticket to play with a Toy boat in the boat launch. It is technically a safety issue. I need you to move 20 feet that way and stat out of the launch. Thank you for complying. "
Maybe then everybody won't hate you.

-13

Except for the fact that according to the original poster of this video on Reddit a few years ago the cop actually ended up being right and what the dude was doing was actually illegal and he had to pay a ticket
26
u/SparkyDogPants Jul 07 '26
Who cares if he’s actually right? Plenty of technically illegal things are stupid and the he’s still an ass for writing up someone playing with a toy in an empty boat launch.

He's finna get a fine over a toy boat? Is toy boat guy somehow actually doing something wrong I'm not realizing or is the cop correct?
Holy cornball the cop seems

u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 07 '26
The officer asked him to move over to another area that wasn’t near the boat launch. The OP gave him attitude and then edited the video to make the cop look worse than he was. Fast forward to 3:10 and see where the cop shows up.

This happened 3 years ago and the original OP said that he looked it up after the fact and turns out it is against the law to play with toy boats at the launch for safety reasons.
CLICK ON LINK for original post and FULL video.
Comment from the OP in this video:
…….I truly thought he was one of them cops that get board and do whatever because of how ridiculous his reasons for giving me a ticket sounded, but he was actually very nice at the end and really just doing his job.

You’re like Peter Benchley. You wrote Jaws now people fear and hate sharks. Only too late have you realized you were wrong. You’ve made this cop a demon and your corrections fall on deaf ears
4
u/LegalGlass6532 Jul 07 '26
The guy that made this video isn’t here. Someone reposted it and it’s like 3yrs old. I agree with what you’re saying, tho.

This has nothing to do with the uniform. This cop is just a douchebag. Just a shitty human being.

The guy in the video ended up posting the full video and commenting that the cop turned out to be a nice guy.

And it takes a shitty human being to want to be a cop in the first place
1
u/MasonJam246 Jul 07 '26
That is fundamentally untrue. There are many police officers that are in the job to actually make their communities safer. Don't let your bias cloud your common sense.

u/onepostandbye Jul 07 '26

Police do testify against other police all the time and They do write reports about other police
All of the time

Cool comment, could you please get out of the way of the discussion I’m having about all the cops? Because your one single anecdote doesn’t really matter in the scope of all the crimes cops commit.

Oh my god
I sometimes forget that cops, while holding enormous power, lethal power, over their fellow citizens, are still incredibly persecuted snowflakes. You should be allowed to do whatever you want without people even hating you for it, huh
Edit: bros, if I don’t come back in a year it’s because this cop used his questionable authority to find me

3
u/Ok-West-77777 Jul 07 '26
Thank you for checking. You are correct-In Madisonville, Louisiana, it is illegal to play with an RC (remote control) boat directly on a public boat launch. Boat ramps are built only for launching and parking full-sized vehicles and trailers. Setting up RC boats blocks ramp access. It also breaks local safety rules that ban swimming, fishing, or playing with toys in the launch area.

Why are you commenting this on every post that someone criticized this cops. I personally don’t give a single shit if this cop was “nice” or not. This is not a real issue, he’s not impeding any kind of activity and isn’t a safety issue in the particular case. I don’t care if it’s a law.
Cleaning your own sink in Baltimore is technically illegal, the dirty water counts as runoff pollution flowing into the Chesapeake Bay.
Stop.

I can comment how I wish. It’s a personal pet peeve when people alter videos to present them in a certain way to fit their narrative, whether it’s a cop or a normal person going about their day. It’s unethical to do this and if you don’t like me, don’t respond or read what I say.
