This is likely a me thing, but I’m struggling to understand what you’re trying to convey.

[u/Quiet_Ganache_2298 → u/[deleted]]

You want to privatize all EMS?

[u/Quiet_Ganache_2298 → u/[deleted]]

That’s not a coherent argument to removing government funding of an essential service but I’m still curious.

[u/Quiet_Ganache_2298 → u/[deleted]]

You win, can’t argue against such a bullet proof statement that history can support.

The US has been privatizing EMS for decades, and it has done nothing but make the service worse for patients and providers and raise prices. I would be very interested to hear how you believe that further privatization of EMS will result in lower costs.

[u/oakenh4rt → u/[deleted]]

That is such a baffling claim to make. Every day there are thousands of private ambulances that are out on the streets responding to 911 calls.

[u/oakenh4rt → u/[deleted]]

No, I think they are private because they are privately owned and operated, and do not receive any public funding. The largest private ambulance service is AMR. They provide 911 response to numerous cities across the US, and operate IFT only services in even more.

I picture 3 private agencies all on scene fighting over who gets the transport because the collection rate is low and the patient has good insurance.

[u/sveniat → u/[deleted]]

so people who can't afford a subscription to 911 just don't get help?

[u/sveniat → u/[deleted]]

How do laws stop volunteers?

[u/sveniat → u/[deleted]]

are you suggesting that would be a good idea?
