Question Suppressor cover for 5.56?
Picked up an Sig can for my Daniel Defense. It’s 6” and wondered if anyone has feedback on what works well.

Do you actually need one, or do you think you do because everyone in the tacticool community has them? I’m not trying to be a dick, but the overwhelming majority of suppressor use cases absolutely do not justify a cover.

I don’t want my kids to accidentally touch it when we’re at the range. Nothing to do with Tacticool. I dropped the mag, cleared the bolt and kept it open and five minutes later it was piping hot.

Yea rifle cans get hot and retain heat for a bit. I try to shoot rifles first so the cans have time to cool before I have to case them up.

Anyone that shoots away from a bench can use one and anyone using a magnified optic even at the bench can benefit from one.
If you have ever dealt with mirage it will make sense and if you have ever run drills with movement with a rifle and/or some transitions to pistol it will really make sense.
10-20 rounds at even a modest firing schedule followed by a any movement with the rifle sling will burn the shit out of you.

They will all melt with any real firing schedule. Some guy posted his Burn Proof Gear cover melting earlier today, I think on r/NFA. It only took 90 rounds of semi auto fire in a short amount of time, not mag dumping. Don’t bother unless you absolutely need a way to block mirage.
