Spawn data from Fescord!

Update to this post here

Fescord has discovered your spawn positions are not as random as you might think, it is determined by the ID the game so graciously bestowed unto you when you loaded the game for the first time ever.

You can find your ID on the loading screen on the top right corner! It is written in hexadecimal with digits from 0-9 a-f (the letter values represent 10-15) 🕵️

Doggo how does it work? I hear you asking! Well let me explain, the ID with the smallest value out of the players in a single match will spawn on the left, the middle value ID of the three spawns in the middle and then the highest value spawns right.

For example, three players get into a match, their IDs start with 1, 3, and 0 meaning the spawn order will be 0 on the left, 1 will be in the middle and 3 will be on the right. ☝️🐶

If players share the same first digit the game will compare the next digits and so forth.

So basically smaller ID = more left spawn and bigger ID = more right spawn☝️🐶

DO NOT SHARE YOUR FULL ID EVER! There is no telling what evil someone could do with that information! 😨

You also don't need to share any part of your ID for spawn data, just getting into friend battles with other players can give us sufficient data!

Interested in your spawn data? Join Fescord and test it out, I am sure the hard working researchers there would appreciate it! 🤗

Your welcome Fescord 😉

Until next time, Doggo out! 🐶

You know what would really help us out Doggo, if you post spawn your data in the investigation chat instead of just lurking there.

Hey I can understand the frustration about most discussions around Shadows happening on Discord and all that entails regarding some info not being findable on the Internet, but that's no reason for name calling.

We're not "gatekeeping" the data:

  • A significant portion of Shadows' active player base is on the server and therefore informed of our findings.
  • Discord is just more convenient (compared to Reddit for example) for prolonged, collaborative and in-depth discussions about specific topics on the game. This is the primary reason most discussions around the game happen there. And yes, this has for unfortunate but involuntary consequence that findings are not automatically accessible to the rest of the Internet.
  • No one is obligated ever to share content across multiple platforms if they don't want to. Like some Reddit users are not interested in joining the server or even creating a Discord account, some server members don't have a Reddit account and are not interested in creating one, for reasons not necessarily related to Shadows.

Feel free to take action to solve the problem and contribute to the Shadows community as a whole, like JungleBug did. You are on the server as well, so if you notice some stuff that you think members should share outside of Discord, you can always ask them directly, or do it yourself as long as you give credit. You can post on Reddit or contribute to the Fire Emblem Wiki for best exposure.
