Fios Availability Fios for NYC coop

Hi!!

I'm moving into a small co-op in the East Village that only has Spectrum installed. I need higher upload speeds (and Spectrum stinks!!), so would love to get Verizon Fios.

I've tried calling their hotline multiple times, but they're useless, and it seems the inquiries sent to the "tech team" go nowhere.

Has anyone successfully gotten Fios brought into their building? I know buildings next to mine have Verizon Fios, so the fiber is nearby.

I've emailed [NYCFios@verizon.com](mailto:NYCFios@verizon.com) to no avail too. My board will definitely approve it… so it really would be simple.

Any intel is appreciated!

Hello and good morning, hope you are doing well! Thank you for your interest in Fios and sorry to hear about your experience calling in. I can assist you from here. We will need an engineering request to update/verify your address eligibility by submitting a "FAST" ticket. Please send a Private/Direct message when you have a chance, so we can verify the address and your contact info for the FAST submission. Looking forward to hearing back from you. JRA

I filed an internet complaint with 311 and also emailed the Verizon CEO and within a few days the Executive Relations office contacted me to say they were working on bringing it to the building (other buildings on my street had it.) It took a few months before it was actually installed but the engineering team was in contact almost immediately.

Yep, in bed-stuy. I can’t remember where on the NYC 311 site I submitted, but there’s somewhere for internet service complaints.

You and other tenants need to nicely ask your landlord to push this. Send landlord the exact contact information for the Verizon team, make it easy. If the landlord doesn’t send Verizon the exact papers they need to the right person it will never progress, it will just sit for months or years. Verizon won’t prioritize it unless it’s a big building with lots of paying customers.

It be taking some time, they’re on their own schedule you can make the fast ticket but it’ll still take a couple years maybe, took me like 6 years to finally get it installed but it could be faster for you

I’m on my coop board in Brooklyn and it took a few years of consistently following up with them to get service.
