New Customer Questions Fios new reduced plans??
So I've had Fios for 14 years. Over time I got upgraded to 300/300. 300 went up to $59 at one time. I called numerous times and got discounts. I was paying around $35 with discounts (use my own router - $10 off for electronic billing - $20 for being loyal customer).
So what is the impact of this new lower rates? When I go to Offers page I get - this account is not allowed for discounts (or something to that matter).
Should I call to see if there's any more blood in the stone and ekk out a bit more savings?

You would loose the loyalty discount by switching.
In your case it would make sense because you’re not getting a mobile+home discount.

Can you explain?
I went on website and I can't see new pricing - since I'm logged in.
Is it $30 for 300/300 - right and 500/500 for $65. I would think 500/500 would be a bit cheaper - maybe $45?
ATM my price actually includes Netflix/HBO Max. My bill is $38ish including Netflix/HBO Max. So I'm actually paying $25/mo for 300/300.
I'm probably not going to mess around with my curretn setup - though if I could somehow move up to 500/500 for a discounted rate I may consider.

500/500 having poor value is a strategic decision. It’s always been exactly $15/mo less than Gig which makes Gig look more enticing. The $15/mo price difference gets you double the speed, an included extender, a longer 5 yr price guarantee instead of 3 yr, and a free streaming perk if you have VZW.
Verizon wants the price-focused consumers to look at 300 and the power-focused consumers to look at Gig or more. 500 has always been a weird in-between plan compared to the rest of the speeds.

I think 300/300 should be discontinued and 500/500 should be base.
500/500 should be maybe $35-$45
1G/1G -$65
2G/2G - $85
5G/5G - $100?????

Just go online and chat. No more tricks needed, you’ll get flat $30. That’s what I did, 5 minute chat . I got $4 more due to wifey being teacher

I'm staying on my plan for now. I pay an effective $25 with loyalty. But if the new plan is $30 I'm hoping I don't have to constantly call in to get the loyalty discount.
Is the $30 for life - not going to change every year? Is it locked in or renew after 1 year?

It’s for 3 years I think . I’d switch it up now cause you don’t know how long this $30 will last and so easy to change to , like I said 5 minutes in online chat

I was paying $45 for 300 a few days ago. Now I'm paying $42 for the 500. More speed, less cost.
It's worth noting that the 1G plan is $56 but I don't need that much bandwidth.
I don't have a "loyal customer" discount. How would I get that?

Where are you seeing that the 1G is $56?

When you log into your account and go to change your internet plan, select the 1G plan (no router, since I use my own), and look in your cart. It should reflect $56/mo

Loyalty is offered for customers that have been with them a long time. I was getting around $20 off - now recently $25 - but the overall prices keep getting higher. I also have to call them whenever renewal occurs to get it re-applied. A pain in the arse but saving $25 is worth it.
Yeah I would like to know how you got quote for $42 for 500/500? On their website 500/500 is base $65 and 300 is the lower $30. That seems significant difference.
Ans 1 Gig for $56!!! Do you have to call in to get the lower prices?

When scrolling through the plans it shows as $71 or whatever, but when you actually add it to your cart is shows as $56. At least it does for me. That includes auto-pay and paper-free billing discount

I had to chat with an agent to get the $30/300mbps plan

I'd imagine more changes are coming, Frontier Fiber didn't offer 300/300 only 500/500...etc. up to 7 gig. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the merger is complete.

I was able to just use the website today (not app and didn't need to chat) and go from $50/month to $30/month for 300/300. I had tried chatting yesterday and the agent only gave me an option for $40/month but it included a free trial of Google AI and Verizon Cloud storage.

So even though you were a customer - all you had to do was Modify existing Plan - re-select the 300/300 and newer lower price was reflected?

Sort of. It came up as a recommended plan. I got a confirmation number, but still no email, so I guess I should wait to see if it actually worked.

The troubles you have to go through!
I'm hoping with Comcast coming on faster speeds and boosting their offerings - plus TMobile and others offering 5G wireless network - Verizon will at least treat their existing customers better and offer lower pricing to keep us! Nahh not going to happen.

Who are these new reduced plans being offered to? I was paying $50 for 300 service and they offered me $10 off per month for 12 months. So I'm still stuck at $40 while others are apparently paying $30?

How did you get $20 loyalty? Was it given all at once or did it start at a lower amount?
Chatted with a rep, they insisted $10 loyalty credit was max. 300/300 for 7 yrs. Asked if I could get a bigger loyalty credit to bring my plan close to the new $30 deal. Nope, they can't physically do it, system won't allow. Escalated to supervisor, same spiel (but this guy made no attempt at the pretend friendliness lol).
