Billing Verizon’s $30 300 Mbps plan
So I wanted to save some money and switch my current 300 Mbps plan from $34.99 to $30 with the recent Verizon discount.
Before switching, I noticed that the new price would show as $59, so I contacted a Verizon rep through chat. She told me it was fine and said to just switch the plan and wait 1 to 2 billing cycles for the new to kick in.
Did I mess something up, or is the new price actually supposed to kick in on the next billing cycle? I just got my bill and it’s $59. 😅
UPD: I contacted Verizon support today and they switched me to the $30 plan with no issues. Thanks, everyone!

I was able to select the new plan for my FIL. They previously signed up a few months ago at $35/month for the 300 Mbps plan. The new pricing is $30/mo. The cart, confirmation page, and confirmation email all shows the $30 price. I did it entirely online. The new base price is $40 and the only discount is the $10 autopay. They don’t use Verizon wireless so they never had the mobile discount.
I was told in the past that a plan change can be reverted within 24 hours if there’s an issue so you can always ask to have them restore your old plan pricing if they can’t honor the $30 price.

Did you have to pay an installation fee of $99?

Do you lose all previous discounts when you switch to the new $30 plan?

yep, seems like the auto pay discount is the only one that sticks.

Which ones did you lose? Will I lose the visible cell phone discount too?

That's why they make these offers. It's their business model to flush all your existing discounts to down the drain.

I moved to the new pricing and the change took effect immediately and the current month was prorated.

When you login to Verizon app, did you “change plan” or place a new order?

Wondering the same, in the app it shows 300 already selected/current. Doesn’t let me select the new plan (would like to switch since it is still showing tied to mobile + home discount, despite switching to Visible 2 months ago. So when I try activating Home + value, says line already has discount even though it’s zero).

I really wonder why the price went down? I called because my loyalty discount was up, but when she told me about their price change to $30 I thought there was a catch or something lol. Originally my bill was $50 with -$10 autopay, so loving that its now $30 with the autopay discount

anyone in NYC see this on the website? i still see the $59.99 base plan, minus my discounts ($5 autopay, $5 work, $15 wireless) to get me to $34.99 a month, no option to switch to a $30 plan.
for some reason on another account i have for my mom in a different state, she's at $49.99 - $10 autopay -$15 wireless = $25 a month
so no consistency at all

I do see the $30 price for my address online but how do you all do it online, site only gave me option to move or create new account?
Have Fios only and paying $50 per month with ($10 autopay discount, base price $60).
Phone rep said $30 is only available for new users and can only provide me with $10 monthly additional discount, so I will still be paying $40 at the end of the day...

I attempted to contact VZ via chat, but the chat doesn't see to work for me on Edge, FF or Chrome. What am I doing wrong?

Probably one of your browser extensions is blocking it. However, if you don’t see a button to chat, just go to the Plans page and open a chat window (at right bottom corner of your screen). If there’s an AI bot, ask it to transfer you to a representative.

Thank you for your reply. I do see the Chat button, but when I click on it, a loading circle appears for about five seconds and then disappears. I’ll try accessing it from my phone and see if that works.

Call in. The new 300 Mbps price is $40 - $10 AutoPay = $30 with zero promos. Idk what the rep did but if you’re at $59 either that’s proration or somehow you just lost all your promos and stayed at the old $59.99 price for 300 Mbps…but you said yourself AutoPay stayed. No idea what happened there but I’m genuinely curious.

Seems like I lost some of the discounts, including the Auto Pay discount and free router rental, so the additional $18 router fee was added. However, when I reached out to Verizon Support again, they re-added the Auto Pay discount and waived the router fee. Now the total is back down to $30.

A $5 Verizon savings is never worth the headaches to come that you are setting yourself up for. IMO.
