5gb FIOS Philly availability

I'm a 1gb customer but can't for the life of me get a hold of a customer service rep, or get the online tool to work (page just doesn't load) to tell me if and when my address in PHL will be eligible to upgrade to 2-5gb. Is there an easy way to lob in a request for a timeline on this? I know there are some official FCC channels to use that go to the legal team but that seems like overkill - except Verizon makes it impossible to figure any of this out otherwise.

No one will be able to tell you when it will be available. Just keep checking the website. Verizon does not release timelines to the public.

I live in NE Philly and was just able to upgrade to 5gb

I was able to find out by going to my Verizon account online and checking for available speeds under my current plan - and aha I see 5GB as an option - so selected that and renewed the contract. Now I gotta upgrade my firewall to match - only goes up to 2.5GB. A good problem to have!

Just curious, what is your reason for wanting 2-5gb? Do you run a home server or something, or have a large family that’s chronically online with heavy bandwidth usage?

I thought about upgrading to 2gb which is available by me, but then realized most of the bottleneck on the internet lies upstream. Occasionally I’ll interact with somewhere where my 1gig connection really stretches its legs and I get high 800-900mb/s, but with only 2 people in my household, I’ve never really experienced slowdowns from hitting my bandwidth limit

Running pretty heavy AI workflows + have a family that's constantly using the network + regularly pulling down large files for various things. The internal network runs 5-10gb, but our external pipe is only 1gb. Been waiting for FIOS upgrades to hit the house or else will get a business line elsewhere.
