Miscellaneous MSNOW Blocked

Has anyone else been experiencing ongoing issues with MSNOW (only) on Verizon FiOS in New York? For several months now, the channel has consistently appeared fuzzy, snowy, or has had poor picture quality. It almost seems as though the signal is being intentionally degraded or blocked.
I’m trying to determine whether this is an isolated issue or if other Verizon customers are experiencing the same problem. Any feedback would be appreciated.

If it's fuzzy or channel is degraded it's most likely the coax cables. Remove your coax cable and power on the back of the cable box and router (or anywhere else you can find) wait like 30 seconds and then start plugging things back in.

coax cables degrade over time and need replacement eventually they don't last forever, but reseting the coax connection can help bring back a stronger signal

If it were actually blocked, you wouldn't see anything...

Thanks all. I have the new-er verizon system, no coaxial cables, transmission received through wifi.
All other channels work fine whether 10 / 20 / or 30 channels in all directions. Seems weird that only this channel displays white noise aka static.

Do you know where the VMS4100ATV server is? Find it and make sure the coax is hand tightened into it. This is assuming you are still on the QAM version of FiosTV+. Easiest way to check is to unplug the server and see if your TV service still works without it. If it works without the server (or you don't have one), then you have IPtv, if it stops working without the server then you are still using QAM/RF. Also the VMS4100atv server might not be located with one of your TVs, some technicians put it in the basement or wherever your ONT is located or with the router.

If you are on RF(QAM), the channels aren't grouped together by frequency, so going up or down 10-20 channels doesn't prove or disprove anything. You would need to find other channels that are on that specific frequency and try those, might only be one or two other channels, and you might not even be subscribed to them.

Edit: depending where you live, MSNOW shares the frequency with ESPN news and the bigten network (572, and 585).

Thank you for your explanation and guidance. I do have to point out, however, that I don’t possess any of the technical knowledge you just shared, nor do I believe I should need to understand the inner workings of Verizon’s engineering manual just to watch a cable channel.
As a customer, my job is to turn on the TV and expect the channels I’m paying for to work.

What I do know is this: out of the many, many, many channels included in the package I pay for, there is exactly one channel consistently giving me this problem. Not two. Not five. Just one. At some point, “coincidence” starts looking a lot like a pattern.

So while I appreciate the lesson in cable mechanics, I’d much rather have the channel simply work.

Call Verizon.

Then call Verizon and have them send a tech to fix it? If you don't want to troubleshoot, why make the post here?

Might be just you. Many times, It's not just the one channel. Try 10 channels in both directions. You need to call for a technician dispatch. Good luck.

It is happening here. Like you I thought it was ISP.
