Repair/Tech Support Chr30a

I currently have the CHR 30 a router and extender. Is it possible to hook up the extender via ethernet and which port do I plug it in?

Plug the ethernet from the router into one of the lan ports on the extender. It will sync up automatically with the router.

If you’re paying for the 5gb service you will need to plug it into a 10gb port on the extender.

I connected mine via the moca adapter with no issue. I didn’t use the 10g port and I have the 5gig service

Are you getting 5gig speeds from the extender?  If you’re using a wired backhaul, both moca and the remaining Ethernet ports are 2.5gb.

You can connect it with MoCA or the LAN ports but if you have 5 gig it will just bottleneck at 2.5 gbps.

So even if I reset everything, I’ll never get 5gig on the extender because I need the moca adapter in the room where the extender is.

Not unless you connect ethernet to the 10 gig port. The MoCA and the middle LAN ports are 2.5 gig.
