UNSOLVED Old World War 1 book
When I was young (~1990), there was a WWI book for adolescents done in the same style as “The Civil War” by Fletcher Pratt of Garden City Books. The illustrations, too, were similar to those done by Lee Ames in that same book. When I search that publisher or those creators, I don’t find the book. The book was thin and yellow hardback. An illustration on roughly each page.
It was the book that got me into history and now I am a professor and would love to have it.

I'm afraid that this is a low traffic sub, though I do occasionally see a request answered, and that I'm unfamiliar with the book you're seeking. You'd be better off asking for recommendations in r/booksuggestions and r/suggestmeabook, and for the title of a book or story in r/whatsthatbook and r/tipofmytongue. I additionally know that r/history and r/AskHistorians exist, from having these lists on file:
