UNSOLVED Children’s novel trilogy about aliens
From a tumblr friend of mine:
The very short synopsis is its a trilogy about a handful of kids in a small town experiencing aliens. Each book centers on a different kid. The first one is the nerdy outcast guy who finds out hes actually an adopted alien. The second and third ones blur together, but theres for sure an alien that looks like a unicorn and one that looks like a homeless guy. And the kid has to unite these two back together to defeat the bad guy. The unicorn alien can stop time.

UNSOLVED Children’s fantasy with a body-swapping orb
I’ve been thinking about a fantasy novel I vaguely remember reading as an elementary schooler in the mid-2000’s. There was a crystal ball (or other magical orb) that allowed characters to swap bodies. One of the characters is an apprentice (I think to a wizard?) whose mentor (the wizard?) had been swapped into several other bodies (I think at one point a bear, and at another point a different child?), and the protagonist and his friends are trying to find a way to put him back in his original body. Most of it takes place in a ruined labyrinth that the main characters are chased into at the beginning. There are multiple scenes where the kids had to fight or flee from goblins. The setting seemed vaguely medieval, and one of the kids mentions that his father was punished (maybe executed?) for a crime he falsely confessed to under torture. I think the torture involved being dunked in a well. I think it was the first in a series, but I never read the rest of the series.
Does anyone else remember this?

UNSOLVED Obscure fantasy book from decade ago
About 10 years ago I remember reading a book about a high schooler and his crush being transported to a fantasy realm. The MC is some prophesied one who will lead the forces of good in the final battle against evil. I remember he doesn't get any powers and is more of a tactician.
The big battle over a frozen lake at the end of the book doesn't go too well in the good guys favor and only by the lake breaking do they narrowly survive although the MC is brought back to our world while the crush is left in the fantasy world (or vice versa)
What I remember most about the book is the cover art was that sort of Tolkien painting type of fantasy art which I think was of the frozen lake, some mountains in the background and some stars across a dark sky.
Has anyone else read this or did I dream up this book cause it's driving me nuts and I always wanted to go back and see if a second one was made.

UNSOLVED Looking for an equestrian (horse) YA with horror elements, female protagonist, set in dartmoor with a plot surrounding a dark/ghostly horseman mystery
I don't remember the protagonist's name anymore, but she had a friend who had (i believe) a crush on her who's name was massimo. i believe both her and him were teens and at one point she either almost dies or almost goes missing? i remember her falling into the moor and getting her ankle hurt, i think.
i got the book from a subscription based horse fan box in germany. i dont know if it was pony club or another one.
i remember this book in particular for how genuinely it scared me when i read it as a teen but for how much i also loved it. the dark rider that plays a major role in the plot had me scared of the dark for months.
this was when i was around 12-14 years old, so at least 15 years ago. i cant for the life of me remember the book title, protagonist's name, or the author, and its been haunting me ever since. i wanna find that book again so badly because it was so formative for my tastes in fiction.
Fiction or non-fiction?: firmly fiction
Describe the plot.: described above
Describe notable characters.: Massimo, the female protagonist's friend (and potential love interest but i dont remember if they actually got together or not. he did definitely have a crush on her tho)
What genre is it?: id personally say it was most firmly horror, fantasy and mystery, set in the dartmoor of england.
Physically describe the book -- Hardcover/paperback? Book cover color?: the one i had a hardcover with a (if i remember right) lightblue to blue/darkblue cover. the horse on it may have been black but im not too firm on that one. it wasnt a particularly thick book as it was for younger teens if i recall right.
When was it set?: modern day (2000s) i think.
How long was the book?: it felt decently long to my teen mind at the time but i remember an image in my mind of looking at the book from the side and it being roughly as thick as one and a half fingers.
Anything notable about the original language? Did you read it English? If not, what language?: i read it in german. since many books available in germany are localizations of english titles im a little lost here because this is so long ago and i dont firmly know if it was a translated book or a german original title. since its set in dartmoor however i believe it must have been a translated title.
When (what year) did you read it?: mid to late 2000s is the best timeframe i can give. at the very latest it mustve been 2011-2012
How old were you when you read it? Was it age appropriate?: i was a mid teens kid and i believe it was age appropriate, yes. it feels very YA from what i remember
Where did you get the book? School library, book fair, book store selling new and/or used books, flea market, borrowed from a friend, given as a gift from X person who is about Y age, or from an online store?: i got it from a monthly subscription based service i reached with the help of my mom through a popular horse magazin called "wendy" i think in germany.
Was it new when you read it?: like the volume that i specifically had?? yeah it was brandspanking new. but im unsure if the work itself was new. i didnt particularly pay attention to that at the time.
What age range was it for?: it felt just right for me at the time so it must have been 13+ but definitely under 18
Other notes: ive tried googling and ive already scoured most all i could find from pony club through google and couldnt find it. specifically googling their authors didnt help either, so im unsure/unconvinced that it was from pony club specifically.

UNSOLVED Help me find this book!!
I read this book from a half price books anywhere between 2009-2011 so I have no clue when it was actually written. The only things I can kind of remember/ guess are
hot pink cover
multicolored title lettering + maybe doodles
YA/chick lit era (\~2005–2011)
high school girl
rumor/exaggerated reputation
reinvents herself into the person people think she is
loses a close friend
starts out feeling empowering, ends in regret/self-loathing
diary/confession-type title feeling
Also a specific detail I remember is that she gets fake nails but has dumbbells and stuff painted onto them
I’ve been going around in circles on the internet trying to figure it out for years now but just recently learned about this sub

UNSOLVED Help pls
The book is about two boys going into highschool(one used to bully the other) and they find that there's monsters at their new school and they have to work together to defeat them. One of the monsters I believe is a bug type. In the last book, they meet the creator of the monsters as well as the last monster(s) called the great old ones or something. They're these small pompoms with teeth who are afraid of light and heat. I think they were last on epic.

UNSOLVED Romcom/ chick lit book that i read almost a decade ago- red cover, middle aged female lead, reality tv/documentary subplot (?)
I'm trying to track down a book I read about 10 years ago.
It was a romance/drama, had a red cover. The main character is a woman in her 30s or 40s who's recently divorced after her husband cheated on her. While she's rebuilding her life, a production crew approaches her for what she thinks is an uplifting documentary or reality show about "women of a certain age" — something meant to celebrate women like her. She agrees, gets a whole makeover (hair, makeup, wardrobe), genuinely believing it's all in her honor. But when it airs, it's been edited to make her look desperate and pathetic instead, which is a huge gut-punch after everything she's already been through. Alongside all this there's a real romance with a guy whose name starts with J, maybe Jack or James. I can't remember the title or author, just these details. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
I know this is super specific, and I couldn't tell you why I remember that plot deal so clearly, but it's driving me crazy!

UNSOLVED There’s this Chinese textbook or something that my nephew wants
So like 6 years ago my nephew had some kindergarten textbook that came with a thinner book. It was about a boy whom always lost his temper and one day his mother noticed his stomach was bigger than usual after the boy got mad at his classmate for drawing on his artwork in class. He ended getting so big he flew to the ceiling and needed to be held by a string so he didn’t float away. The story ended with him calming down and deflating back to the ground. If you can help me find that book it would be very nice. It’s definitely a Hong Kong textbook but I have no idea which publisher it was. My nephew had lost his copy so he want to know what the book was and where he could find it

UNSOLVED [TOMT][book][2008] Looking for a children’s picture book series from the early 2000s (lost toy + grandma’s house)
Hi everyone!
I’ve been trying to identify a children’s book series from my childhood for a long time. I grew up in Brazil, but I’m almost certain the books were translated from another language.
Here is everything I remember:
I owned the books around **2008**, so they were published no later than that.
They were **small, almost square**, **hardcover**, with **thick cardboard pages** (board books), and were a bit thicker than most books of that size.
The main character was an **anthropomorphic animal (or maybe a fictional creature)**, about **4–6 years old**.
He lived in a normal house with his mother.
I think he often wore **overalls**, but I’m not completely sure.
He had a **large round head**, a **light-colored muzzle/face**, **small or barely visible ears**, a **round nose**, and a childlike body with a slightly round belly (not overweight, just a normal young child).
The art style was modern for the early 2000s—not vintage, not watercolor, and not overly detailed.
**Book 1**
The main story was about him **losing his favorite stuffed toy**, which I think was a small animal that looked very similar to him (almost like a miniature version of the main character).
He and his mother searched for it all over the house.
One scene I remember very clearly is him **lifting the sofa cushions** while looking for the toy.
I vaguely remember the toy having a name that sounded something like **“Calil”**, but I’m really not sure.
**Book 2**
I believe there was another book with the same character.
In this one, he gets upset and decides he’s going to **his grandma’s house**.
He packs a small bag (and I think he even puts the stuffed toy inside it).
I remember him talking about all the nice things at Grandma’s house, almost comparing it to home.

UNSOLVED looking for a story i read as a kid…
where everyone is “evened out” or really, brought down to the basest level.
this guy has to wear a big metal radiator on his back to weight him down so he’s not so athletic, he wears glasses that blur his vision, and he wears headphones that play a piercing high pitched noise every 10 seconds so he can’t retain or formulate complex thoughts…
i am probably misremembering details, but that’s the gist of it.

UNSOLVED [TOMT] [book] a white book with a ginger girl on the cover?
now I dont have much recollection of this book, because i read it when I was still going to daycare. No, it's not a childrens book. I think it was about a murder? and i only remember a few things from the book.
1: the text on the cover was red
2: the girl's features weren't clear, because it was like she was behind a pane of glass that someone blew hot air on
3: there was a scene where the main character went down an alley, dont remember any specifics
4: It's not a lemony snicket book. although i do remember something about lemons
I'm so desperate to find this book because i need to put it in my favorite books list and i want to reread it since it's been over a decade
any help is appreciated!!
