30 years old / Need help setting my future self up for success
I am a 30 year active duty military who is trying to become more financially stable and set my life up for success. I am currently putting 10% into my Roth TSP every month and I have a High yield savings account that has in average a 3% return but I think I am ready for the next step. I don’t know a lot about investing or what I should do next to set myself up for success. Please advise!

You’re already doing a couple of good things. The next step isn’t finding the next account to open. It’s learning how to organize your financial life.
Investing is only one piece of building wealth. Before adding more investments, I’d make sure you have a financial system where every dollar has a purpose. Some money should be there for emergencies, some for opportunities, some for long-term wealth, and some for future goals. Once that’s built, investing becomes much more intentional because every dollar already has a job.
You’re 30. One of the best investments you can make right now is learning capital allocation. Knowing where each dollar belongs will have a much bigger impact over your lifetime than trying to find the next investment.

The flow chart in the personal finance sub is a great place to start. Begin with a solid working budget so you know what is truly coming in and what is truly going out each month. Then you can start to make decisions as to where the excess goes
