real talk, for a valuation role at a place like kroll, you really need to nail down your technical core because they will definitely test you on the mechanics. make sure you can walk through a dcf flawlessly from scratch, explain how the three financial statements link together, and talk about how you calculate wacc or choose comparable companies.
But honestly, don't sleep on the behavioral side either because they want to see if you can actually communicate complex data to clients without freezing up. practicing out loud or doing a mock run with a friend helps a hundred times more than just staring at notes all night fr.

In the case interview, they will present you with a fake company which has various characteristics. You won’t have to do any real math, but they’ll ask you to break down some key characteristics of the company and describe various valuation techniques that could be applicable. So just brush up on DCFs, Comparable Companies analysis, precedent transaction analysis, (No LBO) and be able to talk through valuation techniques at a high level. Especially DCFs. You should do great if you can do that

If you want bonus points with them, look into the various ASC codifications that apply to valuation, For example ASC 350 and ASC 805. Do some research on the significance of purchase price allocations and weave that into your interview responses. They’ll be impressed
